Shielded cable like this is overkill for most normal use. However, some networked devices are quite sensitive to static discharge and will misbehave or reboot with even the smallest static shock. Specifically, this was the case with a 5MP Stardot Netcam SC when using PoE. Standard unshielded cable does nothing to prevent this, but this cable's plugs have metal sides which are linked together, presumabily by a 9th wire (I haven't cut one open), to enable you to electrically ground the connected device. Anyway, this cable passed all tests on my cable tester, including the ground test. It feels solid and durable and I've been using similar cables for a long time with no trouble.

I didn't have a ton of money so I honestly just chose one of the cheapest ethernet cords I could find BUT I also needed one long enough that I could stretch from my bedroom to the router. I'm so happy with my purchase! First off, I'm renting my apartment so I couldn't thread my cord through the walls like homeowners like to do. I had to take nails and thread my cord around doorways and across a ceiling. That being said, this chord survived that process and is still going strong! The speeds are fantastic, I have it plugged into my Ps4. I definitely recommend this cord for anyone that has to have theirs going through a high traffic area.

Works, does what it should. True to description in length, thick jacket, actual cat6, grounded heads, and is handling near 10gig speeds.

It doesn't stay in the USB port. I have to wrap it around my laptop screen to stabilize it. There isn't a metal clip as shown. Once wrapped around my computer and jimmy-rigged to stay in, it stays in most of the time, but it's not a pretty sight.

Was having slow response time and intermittent failures. Cable company said not their problem. IT service provider said not my problem. So started searching for possible causes in the house. Since the cable entry is right next to the electrical panel, thought shielded might help. After reading about the Cat 6 shielded cords decided to try. Haven't had the slow response time or intermittent failures since. I'm assuming both the shielding and the improvement of Cat 6 over old Cat 5 (or before) made the difference.

Works exactly like it should, should've ordered a longer one. Way better then the wifi I have, the wifi i have doesn't work because of to many signals interfering.

This cable is top of line in that it is shielded and well-made to minimize electronic interference. The workmanship of this cable made it a clear choice for my application. I would definitely recommend this product and seller - not only for a great product, but great delivery time as well.
