Hobonichi Notebook 2023 Accessories, Hobonichi Grid Notebook (A5), 0.1 inch (3.7 mm), 288 Pages

This notebook is perfect for fountain pens. I love all Hobonichi products. I have purchased this a few times from Amazon, different sizes. What I learned recently changed that. Fact and my last one was not bought at Amazon. Do a google search if you want to save money. It is more than $10 in savings from Amazon prices and I am not sure why. I also went to Amazon Japan and even with shipping costs it’s close to the same price. I bought my last one of this for $17 dollars less and received it in 3 days. I am a dedicated Amazon customer and always come her first assuming this is where the price will be best. Still wishing I had looked around more for previous purchases. I love Hobonichi and will always buy these notebooks as I am an avid journaler...but now I shop around first.

As I keep testing the paper with various pens/markers realized that I was hasty in my previous review.Set up the notebook as my journal for 2026 and love it.

This graph notebook is very consistent with the quality and experience of the hobonichi planner. Same grid size, same fountain-pen friendly paper, and minimalist design. The clear A5 Midori MD covers fit this perfectly for extra protection and they’re like $5 on jet pens.

Stock up if you can, if you're a fan of the original TR paper which is sadly no more. I love using my fountain pens with this notebook and watching all the wonderful ink properties come to life. The paper is thin and makes the notebook very light and easy to carry around despite having so many pages in it. Inks won't bleedthrough but there will be ghosting and crinkling, but I like that aspect of the paper as well.

I love Tomoe River Paper (TRP). It works very well with my fountain pens, and I enjoy how it’s so thin. I also really love grids, small grids. So I am creating a little stockpile for myself as I write a lot. The notebooks came as they should. It’s pretty hard to mess up a notebook. The price was on par with other retailers (at the time of purchase), but most other retailers did not have any in stock. If you like writing in a very small grid, and the grid color changes to “section” off the notebook, then this is for you. The binding is secure, and stitched so I will lay flat and not fall apart. I will mention this again, the grid is SMALL! Smaller than a lot of grids you’ll find in the US. So writing in a extra-fine and a Japanese fine nibbed fountain pen (.38 or .4) is best…unless you plan to use multiple lines to accommodate larger handwriting. The downside was the packaging from Amazon. I ordered multiple notebooks in both A6 and A5 sizes. I was thinking that it would arrive in a box…nope. My order was broken apart, and sent in plastic “envelopes”. I am assuming that during transit, this plastic “envelope” was tossed, kicked, and smashed. By the time I received it…the plastic was completely torn in many places, everything inside was all rolling and sliding about, and the top notebook was smashed with a large and sever dent. At least there wasn’t any water damage as each notebook had some sort of individual plastic wrap. I couldn’t request a replacement because Amazon was sold out. So I begrudgingly had accept a refund for the damaged notebook. Then when Amazon did get some more in stock, the prices were way too much. So notebooks work well, besides the poor packaging and transit to my place…good thing this wasn’t a gift to someone.

Had I known I would love this notebook so much, I would've bought a back up. This is maybe the best notebook for Tomoe River paper at the moment.

Looks thin but holds 288 pages of Tomoe River paper. Super compact. The yellow cardstock cover is stiff. I actually prefer a softer cover. It's my first time using this Hobonichi notebook but won't be the last.

If you really look for quality and details in your stationary, this is it! If they make it leather bound I’d buy 100. Worth the cash!

書きやすいし，紙が薄くて持ち運びにとても良い。 ノートを埋めた時の紙を捲る感じもストレスなく、本当に使いやすいノートです。

I stocked up - this paper is wonderful and beautiful for fountain pens. It is thin, silky and the pen just glides on top of it.... I am in love. I understand that this paper is discontinued so I'm not sure how much longer it will be around for. Yes, I like Clairefontaine, yes I like Rhodia but this paper is best. LOVE IT.

Lovely paper quality! It does not bleed but there is some ghosting as expected with such thin paper. The small grids are plus for me as is the fact that they aren’t dark.

Received notebook in okay condition. Outer layer of parcel was torn. At least notebooks came individually wrapped in plastic.

薄くて丈夫、5年ライフログの自作にコピー用紙をペタペタ貼っても分厚くならないのでお気に入りのノートです。方眼もありがたい。
