I was a little nervous about installing a garbage disposal myself, but this Insinkerator made the whole process surprisingly simple. The instructions were clear, and everything fit exactly as described. I was able to remove my old unit and have this one up and running in less than an hour with just basic tools. Once installed, it worked flawlessly—quiet, powerful, and it grinds food waste smoothly without any issues. The compact design also freed up a bit of space under my sink, which I really appreciate. Overall, I’m impressed with both the quality of the product and the ease of installation. If you’re on the fence about doing it yourself, I’d say go for it—this Insinkerator makes it very doable. Highly recommended!

Very easy to install and works well in grinding up small food items like veggies or things that get past our sink trap. Probably wouldn't do too well with starches, but you're not really supposed to put starch down a garbage disposal. The motor is very quiet, but the biggest upside of this is its slim size. Its depth is only about 6.5", so it made it a lot easier to install than the 3/4 horsepower disposals because this allowed us to not have to cut some of our plumbing and install it neatly instead.

My garbage disposal (InSinkErator Badger 1, 1/3hwp, 7 years old) started leaking this weekend and after watching some you tube videos, I discovered the issue was corrosion and cracks on the bottom plate of the disposal. I was hoping I could fix it with JB Weld and seal it, however once getting it apart and to the issue, the corrosion was much worse than the ones from the videos and even after extensive cleaning, it was still really disgusting. So, I replaced it with this InSinkErator Badger 5, 1/2hwp for a little more power. Same day delivery and it was a very quick and simple process! Since I already had the old one off, and the bracket attached to the sink was the same, it took less than 10 minutes to install the new one and hook it up. I have no prior experience with this, and this was my first attempt at anything plumbing, so it really is "Easy Installation"! While having the old one off, I also took off all of the other pipes and cleaned them out as well, as they were really gross and grimey. I am so glad this process was much easier than I expected and was able save a lot of money by doing it myself! IMPORTANT: Remember to remove the dishwasher knockout plug before installing, if you have a dishwasher, otherwise, it is blocked and water will be everywhere! I highly recommend this product and brand. Excellent quality, easy to replace and Made in the USA!

Our original Badger InSinkErator ate itself apart after about 20 years of use. What to do? Buy the exact same one (updated and improved, of course) because it fit perfectly with no plumbing needed and very little effort. Good on ya, InSinkErator for keeping a good product going and making it easy for owners to fix things themsleves, it was easy to remove, install and now the new one is much quieter!

After it finally arrived, installation was easy. Seems to be working fine.

Arrived in perfect condition, exactly as advertised. The mount is pretty common as this is a major brand, so if you're replacing a similar machine (even if it came from another company) you might not even have to replace the outlet in your sink (I didn't!). The cord is long enough to reach the outlet under most sinks (my previous disposal had much too long of a cord which got in the way). If you buy this from one of the "big box" stores, they charge (a lot) extra for the power cord, so having it come, already installed, was a real time-saver and money saver! I needed to re-do the plumbing under my sink (for unrelated reasons), so I also bought the installation/plumbing kit, but if you are happy with the existing pipes, you might just be able to swap this unit in. ***** ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND ***** If you are going to use this with a dishwasher, there is a step in the installation where you use a screw-driver and a hammer to punch-out a piece of plastic so your dishwasher can empty into the disposal. It's VERY EASY to do, but if you don't... the first time you run your dishwasher, you're in for a nasty surprise! If you don't have a dishwasher, it's ready right out of the box. I almost installed it without punching the piece out. Thankfully, I did at least look over the instructions before installing it! (lol) After I got it installed, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is, much quieter than the old one it replaced. I also liked that it is very stable, no vibrations at all. If they shake around, it will eventually loosen the pipes and you'll get leaks, but this model is smooth and didn't need a stand or bracing. For me, the cost of this disposal was less than the cost of having the home warranty company send someone out to repair the old machine. If you feel "handy" enough to swap one out, it's an easy project!

Quiet and ‘easy’ to install. Picked this because it’s just a more powerful version of the one that died - and Carrie’s a longer warranty. Installation could only have been easier if garbage disposals didn’t reside under sinks in dark cabinets!

Had it replaced by a plumber! Great garbage disposal and cheaper than local big box stores!

this seems to be american with american plugs and so on. i have had 2 electricians to look at it and they won't fit it becauase it works on 110 volts not 240 here in england. If it is fitted the current here will make it blow. so unfortunately i am sending it back.

Took a little while to get here but so worth it given the price! Best deal I’ve found so far, about half the the price from this seller! It’s installed and works like a charm, this thing is a beast! Highly recommend!

Si libera gratamente de los desperdicios orgánicos no deseados porque algunos son de buen uso pero hay otros que realmente no. Funciona muy bien y es muy práctico siguiendo las instrucciones de operación en el orden correcto. El ruido no es incómodo y tiene muy buena potencia para triturar. Yo solicité la instalación a un plomero y realmente me dejó satisfecho. Lo instaló en 2 1/2 hrs con todo y botón de aire y contacto bajo la tarja.
