CalPak Night Vision 18-Rolling Backpack, Charcoal

This backpack has been SO convenient and easy to use! I am a 'mature' college student. I take good care of my things but just the nature of a rolling backpack means that I haul it all around campus as well as to and from the bus -- no matter how sunny, snowy, or rainy the weather may be. The construction of the bottom is rugged. The inside is spacious with just the right number of pockets. It holds my large computer as well as my 3-ring notebook and several books. I have recently begun to store the computer's charging cord in the section with the hidden straps. This helps me keep the books in good condition and the cord from slipping under everything else. I am not sure what the little hook on the lower front area of the backpack. It's too close to the ground to really attach anything to it. The other loops have come in handy a time or two. After a full semester and a half, the backpack is wearing very well with very little sign of wear and just a bit more sound in the wheels than when I purchased it. This has been a fabulous buy! (I would love more color choices -- hint! hint!)

Great backpack on wheels for middle-school kids that are hard on their backpacks. Wheels are hidden which keeps them from hitting other things or popping off, bottom rubber allows for the scraping and bumping of boys and their roughness, backpack straps can be tucked away, tube handle is separate from inner area and does well at keeping out rain. The top of the backpack is a little stiff and curved, so it may not be as flexible as other backpacks but we've been impressed. This lasted for over 8 months of the school year, despite seeing my son bump it up and down stairs daily, and even watching his friend swinging it 360 degrees by the tube handle! It held out much longer than the last three rolling backpacks we've tried!

Backpack is actually 19 inches in height including the handle and wheels. If you are following Spirit airlines new personal item dimensions (18x14x8) this bag does fit the width and depth requirements, but is an inch over in height. For that reason I returned it. Better to be safe than pay $100 at the gate when this backpack doesn't wholly fit the Spirit dimensions.
