We are amazed at how handy it is! We have used it to drain water from spaghetti and other pasta. It has been great for rinsing the green beans and other produce from the garden. We are looking forward to a good crop of cool weather veggies and anticipate that it will be useful in cleaning the sand and red dirt from spinach and turnips.We have found that cleanup is easy: Just add a couple of drops of dish soap and a little hot water. Press the spinner mechanism a few times on top. Grit and debris will be sent to the bottom of the bowl for removal. Rinse well and dry.This product can also be used as a colander and serving bowl. The bowl itself is nice clear heavy duty plastic. There is a no skid opaque rubber ring around the base of the bowl to prevent sliding while in use.Because the spinner has such a large capacity, we are thinking of purchasing another to extract water from our suits after our daily swim. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Has the features you want *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2019* First off, I must say that Briefton makes the very best among the 7 spiralizers I have owned the past few decades. Their new 7 blade unit is the best.A salad spinner is a must have item in every kitchen.This salad spinner has the best features you would want in such a product, a pop up button spinner, a brake button and a lock switch to store the unit by keeping the spinner button in the down position.It definitely works as I put it through its paces, spinning large wet Romaine lettuce leaves and smaller spinach leaves.But it is not perfect. The plastic feels a bit soft. The lid and basket of this Briefton spinner are not as study as I would want.. The lid has lots of give when pressed hard and the basket can be easily squished. Maybe I'm just nit picking as their spiralizers are made from thick strong plastic. The Briefton spins fast enough to remove most water from the wet leaves. Afier emptying the water from the container, I usually spin a second time as I have done with every spinner I have ever used.The Briefton salad spinner is about $10 less expensive than any competitor with similar features.The Briefton does a great job and is a great budget choice.I much prefer this spin button design over the crank handle design of others, find the brake button to stop the spinning very useful and appreciate the compact storage using the button lock in the down position. So it has a lot going for it,But how much better could a salad spinner design really be. Briefton has used the most useful and efficient deign I have yet to find. After using it once (and after all the positive reviews) I threw away the box because I didn't think I'd need it. After the 2nd use of this spinner, it seemed to be stripped or something and would no longer spin the basket when pressing down on the center of the lid. My last salad spinner lasted me over 3 years (but similarly stripped, as they do over time). This one was defective for me after 2 uses, so I'm sure I just received a defective one. I'm having trouble returning, though, because I already threw out the box.
