Just a heads up for those of you looking to find a study guide for the a-IPC designation (novice) exam: This book will not help you and reading it will be a huge waste of your time!The candidate handbook offers the reference of a $1000 textbook, so I bought this one thinking that the material covered in the guide would be at least be helpful.Lots of really good information for those practitioners already in the field; however if you are trying to break into the IPC role for the first time, this is the wrong study guide. A large majority of the material in this book is not on the a-IPC exam.

If I could give zero stars, I would. It doesn't seem like a literate person proofread it. There are portions where equations have no numbers but instead &@$#!$&!@ is what you'll find. The questions are poor. For example, there is a question about bacteria, but all the answers are about viruses. Their product description is inaccurate. Not a study guide by any measure.

Comprehensive study guide. I feel confident knowing that I will be well prepared to take the certification exam.

The headers of the book are so incredibly useful and are the star of the book. The headers are hard to miss, and they're ubiquitous. I know exactly what I'm reading about at each and every point and this is crucial when studying for an exam covering a vast array of concepts.

Easy to understand and learn the information. I would be well prepared using this as my guide.
