Go in with low expectations...
Bought this because the metal part snapped off my last cheap overseas keyfob. Started swapping over the guts from mine and the metal part promptly broke off the new one, really? So, I super glued it, wasn't worth returning. The buttons were to cheaply made to actually use, so reused my old ones. Oddly, there should be three screws holding the spring loaded key in, this one was missing a screw... I Don't expect this to last long, especially since it broke within five seconds.

Good inexpenssive product
It is a good, inexpensive replacement for my Acura MDX. It has worked well for a long period, and other than replacing the batteries from time to time, I have had no issues. I recommend the product.

Adequate Replacement Shell, but Button Fitment Issues
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ I purchased this uncut keyless entry remote control car key fob shell case for my Acura MDX, hoping for a simple solution to a worn-out OEM key. The shell provided a decent temporary fix as I was able to transfer the blade and buttons from my old key. It served its purpose until I could obtain an OEM replacement. However, I must echo the sentiments of other reviewers regarding the button fitment. The buttons are noticeably sunken in, and unfortunately, the shell for the buttons did not align properly with the OEM button board. This means that it may not be suitable for anything beyond its intended purpose of holding over until a genuine replacement is acquired. In summary, this shell serves its immediate purpose but falls short in button compatibility. It's a viable stopgap measure for worn-out OEM keys, but not recommended for other applications.

Kinda ok
The case is exactly the same but the inside is kinda of cheap and not everything aligns right. But for the price not bad.

Good Replacement 2008 TL
I ordered this because my current remote was cracked and the key was loose when open. The material seems to be very similar if not the same as the oem. This was a great replacement. I switched the key (plenty of videos on you tube) and remote circuit card. This one comes with the remote parts minus the circuit card. I did have to reuse the panic button since this one seems to be a dummy button. Slight fitment issue making the buttons a little sunk into the remote but not a big deal, especially for the price. Seems like there are a lot of these out there for around $30 but it you are using your old guts, this one works fine.

Just what is needed to renew old worn oem key.
Exactly what I needed to replace worn out original remote. There is a key blank but take few screws out and the whole thing opens up. Gut from old key went in to new shell, and now I have a brand new key!!! Everything fits like a glove. 2013 Acura TSX.

The secret to making this keyfob work...
The product description tries to caveat its use, but falls short of fully explaining how this is supposed to work. Moving the keyless entry/alarm piece from the old to the new is easy. But there are two additional steps to make this work. Firstly, it talks about a "locksmith". You must take the key to the Acura dealer. Only they have the proper cutting equipment to make a correct key. I called 3 locksmiths and they all said they cannot cut this type of key. 1) take the old key and the new key to the Acura dealer with sufficient proof that you own the car, i.e. drivers license, title, etc. Provide the VIN number and they will put the new key into their machine which automatically cuts the correct key based on the VIN. 2) this is the most important part... the plastic end of the key has a hidden compartment which contains a small magnet. this magnet is "programmed" to the vehicle and allows the key to be used to start the vehicle. once this magnet is moved over to the new key, it works perfectly. Apparently, the geniuses at the Acura dealership don't know this because they tried, unsuccessfully, to "program" the new key, which at the time did not have a the magnet. Of course it didn't work because there was no magnet to program. The magnet requires some patient and a very small straight screw driver to remove. First remove, the plastic "door" then carefully wrench the magnet out. be very careful not to damage the magnet during removal. place the magnet into the same compartment on the new key, and place the cover on, with a small drop of super glue to adhere the cover. reassemble the rest of the key.
