I do it all the time. I always spray all my doors, trim (base, cove, door and window) paint store will tell you 10% cut with water or flowtrool but I cut it by a third or more. I use a 2.0 tip. You will get a lot of over spray despite what sprayit states. You'll need 20 to 25 psi to get a good finish.

I am spraying stain on furniture. How do you get even coverage? Which controls did you adjust?

Make sure you are using the right tip on the sprayer AND the right type of stain. I usually use the 1.7mm tip with stain. A spray on stain will dry quickly and you won't need to wipe it off. Spray light coats until you get the coverage you are looking for. I have found the more stain you spray on, the darker it will be and you will lose the wood grain.
