60" Professional All-Aluminum Alloy Snake Tong Reptile Grabber Rattle Snake Catcher Wide Jaw Handling Tool with Lock

Purchased this and another cheaper less sturd pair of tongs and a snake hook to remove a Copperhead from our catio. Didn't get a chance to use it though. Snake left before delivery but this seems nice and sturdy and long enough to do the job intended, though we'd have used this along with the hook , if necessary. This tong has a claw to hold the snake. The hook doesn't. Seems easy to use. Highly recommend.

Well built, and holds snakes firmly without crushing them

Good Grip and provides plenty of stand-off distance from "docile" snakes. However, for rattlers and other angry snakes which can strike, 60" is a little close for me. Your comfort may vary. Solid construction and easy to use, and comes ready to go out of the box without any assembly. Definitely recommended! UPDATE: Grabbed an angry rattler who took up residency in my shed yesterday . . . gripped well and hung on as he attempted to get loose. Durability of the grabber proved itself! See the video!

I had pretty high expectations after reading the reviews. And this is the real deal. There are no "joints" along the shaft as I see in so many other similar offerings. Those are great for the shipping, but are terrible for the using. It is the weak link, and this unit has non. Everything about it operates smoothly and reliably. I'm quite impressed. Except of course for that "lock" toggle that is supposed to keep the handle closed. There was no way to open mine, so I just unscrew it. I first tried to grind it into a getter shape, but gave up and tossed it. My recommendation: Toss the lock immediately. It would be nice if the fixed that one nagging issue. I did tighten up all the screws. Not to the point of binding, but just to take out some of the play. Not necessary for proper operation, but that's just how I roll. They are all Nylock nuts that will stay where you put them. All fasteners appear to be metric. Let's just say I used only metric tons on them, and they fit well.

Super - exactly what I needed. Light enough that you can use at arms length, sturdy enough that it keeps a firm hold on the snake. Really like that it doesn’t harm the snake and you can modulate how much pressure is being exerted. Used it with several large (6’) rat snakes and a few smaller copper heads.

I bought this item in 2023 after a disturbing incident where I found a live snake crawling on the floor in my home. There was pure panic and desperate methods used at the time of throwing a carpet on it and trying to kill it because I was unprepared with how to remove a snake. Afterwards, I thought a snake grabber would be good to have on hand but I prayed that I would never need it. Well fast forward.....3 years later I was just shocked to see a snake in the house again. I quickly got this snake grabber out and immediately was able to grab this snake and remove it and put it outside. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. Am beyond grateful for this product. It quickly solved a very scary predicament. And once again, I am hoping I never need it again. The snake probably would give it a good rating as well since it it alive and free and back outside where it belongs!

One good investment, good quality, easy to use. If you only have to use one time and free yourself of a venomous snake, it is worth every single dollar. Before going to bed I often just pick through my window shade for no reason. A few days ago I opened my shade and saw my dog jump back in a defensive way, I grabbed my new snake tongue and yes there it was a copperhead, and I just sent it with St Peter. I walked inside and started to think what if there was another snake, I graved the snake tongue again and just went there to double check, guest what? there it was, a 2nd copperhead near, I used the tongue again and delivered the 2nd one to St Peter too.

This is for the 60" snake tongs, which are well made. The quality seems top notch, on par with the more expensive domestically made ones. They are lightweight and easy to use, easy enough that my children could figure it out if needed in a pinch. I used it the day after receiving it to relocate a rat snake from the garden. You have to be VERY careful with the jaw pressure not to injure the snake. Use just enough pressure to hold the snake and place it into a bucket, bag, etc. The lock mechanism securely locks the jaws completely shut for storage, but you could not hold a snake in the jaws and lock them too without severely injuring or killing the snake. Again, use just enough pressure to hold the snake and remove it. They don't want to bite you and most of the time they're as scared as you are. This is a great tool to have around the farm.
