The Naughty Helpers.
Wonderful pictures: catch any child's eye. The Farmer's Wife has a chorus. Easy to chant while playing musical chairs or caterpillar or a variation of it. An aid memoire and a way to repeat words that might have to be spelt. That said the tale itself is a puzzle and has depths like the hole the apple fell into.The farmer's wife by trial and error finally realizes something; finds the right words to set things in motion.
