will this work for growing mushrooms in a petri dish?

I have never used it to culture mushrooms, but it is the same "AGAR" I use in my science classroom to culture bacteria in petri dishes with students.

How to make marshmallows with agar powder

@Jcgroff I didn't like marshmallows until I made them homemade. (An experiment, to stuff in sweet potato balls rolled in coconut and toasted, for a contest type blogging party. November blog fodder annual local gathering, like early Thanksgiving. .) I didn't use this product but focused on gluten and corn free at the time.) I'm particularly searching out a non animal gelatin for this exact purpose, as I came upon these comments. Loved to learn that a different product was suggested. Researching that product next. I doubt you will see this comment but I thought it might help others. (Btw, homemade marshmallows need to age/harden/cure? for that purpose. I only gave them 24 hours and they didn't hold up in the recipe. But, I've used my recipe to make fresh marshmallow cream for my daughters rice krispy treats. It was a gooey successful mess. A beautiful disaster "kitchen miracle.")
