Review: Nice watch with a couple of issues. - Sorry, fans of the watch from that "other" company: REAL watches are ROUND. This watch is round. I have to say, I love the style of this watch--it's genuine Fossil, and looks sharp. I had to go with the leather band (whose dark brown color goes surprisingly well with the black watch), but I am looking at buying the steel watchband for it since I find those more comfortable. I also own an LG G Watch R in rose gold that looks nice, but the hardware is a few years old now and it's not as snappy as it used to be. But, it is still more than capable. The Fossil is a nice change, and the black case is a nice alternative to the LG! What I like? The buttons on the side do something, even the "stem" that can be rotated in one direction for notifications and in the other for settings. And as I said, the style of it is high quality without looking pretentious (and it's not a ridiculous "rounded square"). There are plenty of Fossil-designed watch faces that can be installed and customized. (I like using Facer, but their app has gotten bloated and drags down the OS on any watch I have tried it on.) Apps are snappy. I don't use the voice features, but it's interesting that is now has a tiny speaker. What I don't like? Battery life is not good. Unless I need to use this a lot more to somehow "calibrate" the battery and the OS, I can't see this lasting throughout a day. Although I admit that I was playing with the watch quite a bit right after I got it. Still, after 20-30 minutes, I don't expect battery life to have dipped into the sub-90% range. Also, the charging pad is rather small. The LG has a nice, large magnetic base that it sits within. This is just a small magnetic charging pad that the Fossil perches on top of. It's a keeper, though! I'm glad I purchased this one on sale, and am looking forward to receiving the steel watch band for it.
Review: Best Smartwatch I've owned so far!!! - This is my 3rd Android/Google smartwatch, and the first one that I purchased brand new. I've been using this watch for just a little over a month now and I'm very pleased with it as a replacement for my LG Urbane2. I never had a SIM card in the LG so battery life was never an issue with the larger battery it had. I only upgraded mainly for 2 reasons, first the microphone died, and second the watch band was breaking. I purchased the LG "refurbished" for $100 and was really happy with it, but since the mic was bad and it was going to cost around$75 for a replacement band it was time to upgrade. The LG was purchased to replace the original Moto 360 I bought used because the battery was failing again. The original lasted over a year for me, the replacement fell just shy of a year. Plus it was an upgrad adding a speaker and the ability to use Google pay on the watch. I wear this watch daily and usually have at least 10% battery life left when I put it in the charger at night. Battery life in I a custom mode with everything turned on except Ok Google detection. This watch so far is just superior to both of my previous smart-watches. My only apprehension buying was to he smaller battery capacity compared to what it replaced. However this makes the watch thinner on my wrist, and for me the size is great! I love that I can use any 22mm standard band on it and change it out easily. That was a big downfall of both of it's predecessors for me requiring special bands. I am by no means a heavy user of the watch. I have been wearing a watch for about 30 years now, I never could adjust to just using my phone. This for me as an automotive technician is great because I don't have to take my gloves off or get grease all over my phone just to see who is calling or texting at that moment. For me the smart-watches are an extension of the phone, and it's great for getting notifications without having to keep the phone in my pocket.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anyone that didn't get it free like it? Lol**
A: Yes, I bought it about 5 weeks ago and really like it. I have owned to Moto 360 and Huawei Watch 2 in the past, both about 2 plus years old. I like that it has a round, watch-like face. I am getting used to the dial on the side, but like the option rather than having only the touch screen to complete actions within the interface. The battery life is pretty good, slightly over a day with always-on screen enabled. The magnetic charging is much better than the pin connection needed for the Huawei (more consistent). Again, for the price and multiple band options available, it does everything I would want out of a smartwatch. That said, I only use it for time, notifications, timer/stopwatch, and dismissing unwanted calls. The water proofing seems to hold up, although I have not had it fully submerged, as that is what did my Moto 360 in in the past. I would recommend this smartwatch to anyone running an Android operating system. I am currently pairing with a Note 8.

**Q: Does this watch have a left handed mode? Can I wear it on my right wrist with the buttons pointed toward my right hand?**
A: No, the pushers will stay on the right side of the watch, as the display cannot flip if the watch is rotated.

**Q: Specs left out screen size. Gives case size, but want to know actual screen size**
A: The screen size is about 3-4mm less than it appears to be in the pictures. There's a black ring of nothing between the actual screen and bezel. I'm kind of disappointed in this, because my very old Huawei gen 1 watch I replaced with this one had a bigger & brighter edge-to-edge screen for the same bezel diameter.

**Q: Can it help locating your phone?**
A: You can select the "Ring Phone" feature for assistance with finding your phone. Please note, your watch must be within Bluetooth range for this feature to function properly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great smart watch, comparable to the Apple Watch
*by A***S on January 8, 2020*

Pros: - Great battery life. My screen is not always on, only wakes up when I tilt the watch. This way I can easily get 1.5-2 days per charging. - Nice look and feel. Not too big. The leather bands give it a really nice look. Received many compliments that it looks nice and is similar to a real watch. - Really good screen size and resolution. The pictures in IMs, search results, etc. are very detailed and useful even on such a small screen. - Very good synchronization with the phone. The alerts appear on the phone and watch almost the same time. The dismissed notifications also disappear on the phone. - A lot of good apps Cons: - The touchscreen is very fragile. I scratched it on the second day of wearing it. It's really frustrating, because I was wearing a smart fitness watch for the past 4 years, which never got sratched. So beware: get a protective foil, glass or case over the screen. - Charging is very difficult. The charging pad snaps to the back of the clock, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't start charging. Most days I need to fiddle with it for 5-10 minutes until it finally starts to charge. Even then, sometimes it stops charging around 80%. - The big middle button sticks out and I always accidentally long press it, starting the Google Assistant voice command recognition. Sometimes I press even longer and accidentally switch off the clock (e.g.: during exercising). - The system sounds/chimes are very poor quality. For example, the notification of the start of charging, or when an alarm goee off, the watch sounds like a mobile phone from the 90's. Definitely not like a nice smart watch like this should sound. This is probably the fault of WearOS and could be customized, but would be nice to have it out of the box. - Sleep tracker is not included by default. Conclusion: I'm using it for a bit less than a month and am really happy with the watch. My wife has a series 3 Apple watch and this Fossil watch seems to be at the same level in speed and functionality. The Fossil's battery life seems to be a lot better. I also think that this watch can display more text on its screen than the series 3 Apple watch. So if you can live with the cons listed above, I definitely recommend purchasing it.
