Tints of Nature 3N Natural Dark Brown Permanent Hair Dye, Vegan 4.4 fl oz

I was disappointed the first time I tried this color years back. Tried it again recently and still wasn’t happy with the results. But, as I have become very good at coloring my own hair in the last few years, I did some investigating to see if it was user error with this product. I have stubborn gray and very few hair dyes that have mostly good ingredients are hard to find. Because Tints of Nature is one of the few hair dyes without silicone and the harsher chemicals that are found with most hair dyes, I did some work and I am very happy with the results. I used their clarifying shampoo (nice extra!) and I dyed my hair when it was semi-damp, left out a little bit of the gel that’s added to the developer. I found this information online - It changes the balance of the chemicals and allows the color penetrate better. And, I left it on for one hour. It worked! My color turned out awesome and it covered the gray in the stubborn spots - on my temples and on my neck. I love this hair color. Although I don’t have known allergies to PPD and other harsh chemicals, I do sometimes get itching from other healthier hair dyes. Tints of Nature is easy on my scalp and I love that they use as many healthy ingredients as possible! And, I’m very happy with the results!

After a terrible experience with eSalon I was about to give up with self coloring... but because of the pandemic, there wasn't another option. I bought this one at Sprout and this is the 4th time that I'm re-ordering it through Amazon. The color is vibrant and natural. covers my thick greys, It lasts. it doesn't smell like chemical and my hair are soft and lucid. The only cons are that it's pricy compared to other brand and that there's definitely not enough product if you wanna dye long hair ( I only do root retouch )

My daughter, a vegan, picked this vegan hair dye for its quality and closely matching my normal hair color before grays set in. She dyes for me and it lasts LONGER than any hair care done at a salon. This product DOES NOT stink when used like many hair dyes and leaves the user with GORGEOUS , RICH color that lasts and last. I am so glad to use this product.

Update: Tried this again and although the smell is still present the burning sensation did not happen again. My hair still feels a bit damaged after coloring but I am leaving the color on for less time and this seems to help a bit. The color coverage is very good when directions are followed. I wanted to like this but I am still not sure if I will continue using it. I have been coloring my hair with semi permanent hair color for about 20 years. I recently decided to try something less toxic but it was so harsh in my opinion for the following reasons. 1. It smelled awful, like ammonia while on my hair, even though there is no ammonia listed in the ingredient list. Even the clarifying shampoo smelled bad. My previous color did not have a toxic smell. 2. My hair felt brittle and damaged after coloring. This had never happened before. 3. My scalp felt irrirated afterward and continues to feel "burned" several days later. (I have never had this reaction with any other color) I may try this again and leave it on for a shorter time but my instincts are telling me to move on to something else.

I really liked this product. It's very easy to use, no allergy and doesn't smell. I have used some others and after washing I would get black spots on my back but this did a great job. No issues. Only thing is 3N dark brown looks more like black. I would get a lighter color next time.

I have been using Tints of Nature for a couple of years and I truly love it and recommend it to all my friends - and to my doctor who, in turn, lets other women know about it. I like it because it is based with organic ingredients, it does not have any ammonia, resorcinol, or paraben. It does not have any odors and does not make your eyes tear up. I don't have a lot of gray hairs yet, so I find that the recommended time of 20 minutes is sufficient for me. I purchase it from Amazon - which has the best price online. It is manufactured in the UK.

No chemical smell and leaves your hair soft and shiney

The product did not colour any of my gray hairs at all as described. I left the dye on for 40 mins as instructed on the box and it waa if I didn't dye my hair at all. It was a waste of money and time

I read A LOT of reviews before changing to natural hair dye but I was determined and this was the first I tried and I love it. It's the perfect shade for me. I don't mind the initial shampoo either, most reviews I read were disappointed it made the hair coarse but I just found it really CLEANED the hair so as the dye takes better to the hair. It doesn't make the hair tangled and doesn't cause knots so once combed the dye is easy to get through the hair again. I have short, very fine hair so I never use the whole bottle but I'm really impressed. The smell is strange the first time you use as it's a natural smell rather than of chemicals but i'd rather that than burning my scalp (which I have actually done with scars to prove before with the chemical hair dyes). It's just a different product and you can't expect the same as what you get with the chemical dyes. I also think it makes my hair softer and silky after I've dyed it. Really impressed and so were my family. It lasts around 3-4 weeks but I don't find that my roots are massively showing but rather that the whole colour fades more naturally. Happy to then dye my hair say every 4-6 weeks. The price is more expensive than say some of the chemical ones but I'm actually fine with that when I know it's better for my hair and skin.
