New shocks made a very noticiable improved ride.
These are not the best but are reasonably priced and a very good choice for replacing decades old shocks. My 1969 GMC K15 now has a springy uplifted front suspension. Replacement should be straightforward but depends on the length of time the old shocks were on, use lots of penetrating oil before and during the service.

great shocks, good delivery WRONG PART FOR "front" fits REAR
The description clearly says "front" and they do not fit the front of a 1971 chevy 2wd. luckily they fit the rear, and I hadn't done the rear yet, so I didn't have to return them but THEIR SEARCH ENGINE SUCKS the Monroe 34817 is labeled rear and it goes on the front. They have them backwards and you'll have to figure that out for yourself because Amazon isn't going to change it.
