Boat Engine 3JE-03200-0 Carburetor Assy for Tohatsu for Nissan 6HP

R & R OEM carb with replacement carb. No issues. No complaints. It works fine.

I watched a video (Youtube) about how the 3.5 carb, that by the way comes in a lot of other manufacturers as well, is horrible and this 6hp was literally a swap over carb part. Fit perfectly. I mean perfect. I had several issues with the OEM carb on the 3.5. Mostly stalling when you turn the throttle, bogging, just a horrible carb. Swapped this 6hp in place and booom. Started right up. No bogging, stalling, nothing. Smooth through the accelerator. If you have a 3.5 Mercury, Mariner, Tohatsu, or almost any other one that is a 3.5... this is the best thing you can do bar none. Swap it out!

This product worked only one time. The second time I tried to use it, the new carburetor stopped functioning properly. The float or needle stuck and would not allow fuel into the the carburetor float bowl. I took it apart and found nothing wrong. The float height was correct. I had previously installed new gas tank with new gas and new fuel hose and primer bulb. New fuel filter. So no trash was in the malfunctioning new carburetor. Now I have no confidence to reinstall it. I will splurge for OEM next time.

Before purchase, I asked if the carb was correct for my model and the seller quickly responded and confirmed that it was. I received it quickly and it was well packaged and appeared well made and functionally identical to the original Keihin carb I was replacing. I installed it and it worked flawlessly without need of adjustment. I ran the engine for an hour today at various speeds and it runs and idles better than it ever has. My engine is a 2011 Tohatsu 6hp Sailpro model MFS6C 3JE. I use the engine on a Cape Dory 22, a full displacement, full keel 3200 lb sailboat with a top speed of about 6kts. The engine easily pushes it to hull speed at about a third throttle. As nearly as I can tell in my application, this carb is functionally identical to the original one.

I replaced carb on my Tohatsu 6hp (MFS 6C). Started immediately, had to adjust for proper idle rpm. The motor has very few hours, and I've now cleaned the other carb well, but in the summer heat - I didn't want to install the old carb and possibly still need to replace... Careful with the bolt sleeves that nest in the Tohatsu air intake - mounts to this carb part. The sleeves are loose fit to the plastic air intake.

Small sailboat engine stopped working because of ethanol in gasoline. Ethanol free gas was unavailable.
