Campmor Wenonah Drop in Seat

I have used this for several months in a Wenonah Kingfisher. Placed behind the yoke it has allowed me to solo my canoe without reversing it, while keeping good trim and no need to add ballast.The clamps to attach are not included, but available on line for about $10.00. I found them at Piragis.com.The maximum width of this seat is 38", so install it in your canoe at a location where it will attach securely. If you sit off center toward your paddling side the foam seat may not be wide enough. Slip a piece of foam or kneeling pad along side the seat and it will be much more comfortable.I also suggest Gorilla or duct tape be applied to the connection area of the adjustment arms to secure the connection. Any lateral side to side movement on the seat will not cause the arms to possibly come apart if they are securely taped together.For the most part pleased for I can now canoe my tandem canoe solo.

This is a very nicely made foam and aluminum extra seat for a Wenonah canoe. The clamps that hold it to the rails are not included, and I had to order them separately from Wenonah in MN. That added about $50 to the cost. Once in place in the canoe the clamps were needed to keep the seat from slipping. I feel it would be better used in a longer canoe than the one I have, say 17 to 18 feet. My Heron is only 15 feet and there isn't really enough room for an additional seat if camping gear is added. I hoped to use it to help me paddle solo with a single bent shaft paddle, but so far, the double blade paddle seems to work best with my boat, at least if there is any wind.

Makes paddling a tandom canoe alone a lot easier. Not that comfortable and it should have a clamp or lock to keep it from sliding around.
