While the product description says "we guarantee it to be leak proof" I have found this to be the leakiest paper cup I've ever used. The problem is the lid design.Problem #1 is the lid seal. I've posted photos comparing this lid to the lid of a Chinet brand hot beverage cup that I bought at Costco (The Chinet cup is excellent. It never leaks and is easy to sip from. It's main flaw is that I cannot microwave it, which is why I bought these cups from Amazon). From the photo you can see that the Chinet cup has a deep narrow sealing groove running around the entire circumference. When snapped on the cup, the lip fits snugly into this groove and turns the top and both sides of the lip into a sealing surface. No leaks. The design is forgiving if there is a flat spot on the lip (say you bumped it against something taking it out of the cabinet) because the sealing surface is the top AND the sides.In contrast, this Eco Friendly cup uses a series of raised bumps (see photo) molded into the lid to grip the cup lip keep it against the lid. The sealing surface is only the top of the cup lip so any problem or imperfection here and the cup leaks, and once it leaks there is a nice space between the bumps for the coffee to pass though and onto your shirt.Problem #2 is the sip hole design. Again, look at the Chinet design for comparison. The Chinet sip hole is roughly 1/2in wide x 1/8 n high on a FLAT surface. Large enough, but not too large. You can form a seal with your mouth without scalding your lips. This Eco cup on the other hand has a much larger hole (5/8in W x 3/8in H) on a RECESSED surface. This recessed surface is by comparison, enormous ( approx 1in W x 1/2in H). Your mouth needs to cover the whole thing or else coffee will leak out the sides of the recess. And though it's hard to describe, for me that means exposing my inner upper lip to scalding hot coffee.Can I say anything good? Well, the sleeve is nice if not quite as insulating as I'd hoped for and if you don't need to use the lid, the cup is fine. For me, though the horrible leaking lid is a showstopper.

This is the third type of disposable cup I have ordered from Amazon, and these are the best by far. The cup is easy and comfortable to hold with hot coffee inside and the coffee stays hot for as long as you can reasonably expect. For the last type of disposable cup I had from Amazon, the lids were difficult to put on, and they were prone to pop off at inopportune times, causing me to spill hot coffee on myself - these new cups and lids will not do that!! A bonus is that the exterior of the cup is very attractive - I have gotten several compliments for that alone!!

I was thrilled by the quality of these cups.- The corrugated built-in sleeve makes the cup not too hot to hold and helps to keep the liquid inside the cup hot longer. Because it is wavy, it sits nicely in your hand and doesn't slip.- The lids are amazing! The tab that protects the drinking hole is easy to lift, securely snaps into a groove when opened and - this was a pleasant surprise - fits back into the hole tightly enough to prevent the liquid from spilling while walking or on a bumpy ride.- The cups really are reusable. I left some tea in one for a couple of days by accident, and there was no sign of it on the outside of the cup or on the bottom. Usually liquid seeps through the bottom/sides of a paper cup and makes the cup soggy and unusable. But these cups you can use throughout the day - and more.Great choice for an outing or for stocking in an office. Highly recommend!

Okay, so I went on to Amazon to order some "Starbucks like cups" (Amazon has some they sell too it seems). These are a bit more expensive, but they are TWICE as durable (no more double-cupping or those stupid sleeves). I am a new fan of these, and you can refill them two or three times throughout the day (yeah, I am a bit cheap like that). The lids fit well. It's a cup, but it is a really good cup. The sleeve part is NOT detachable.

I bought these because I'm going through a kitchen renovation and needed something disposable temporarily. These cups are sturdy and the way they're made is excellent at preventing your hand from becoming hot while holding it (it has a built-in "sleeve"). The lid stays secure as well. Hope they are as eco-friendly as advertised--that's always a plus. Overall, happy with purchase.UPDATE: Yes, the first few cups were great. However, since then both my husband and I have had many leaks, from the top and even a couple of times from the bottom.

We bought these for an eco-friendly party we hosted. These cups held up great. They were well insulated so the cups were not hot to the touch with coffee in them. We did not use the lids or stirrers. We composted the used cups afterwards to minimize our impact on the amount of garbage we generated. I’d buy these again.

I got these for our office. I have very particular colleagues who were reluctant to try. They were afraid the cups would crumble or not hold heat bc they were eco-friendly. Complete opposite. They look great, feel great, they are sturdy, and they hold heat for a very long time! I am trying to be sustainable while still proving high end cups for our clients.. best of both worlds! Highly suggest.
