Excellent Construction and Works great for Small, Medium, or Flexible Handbags ...
If your handbags are small or medium sized - or flexible large ones - then the "Richards Homewares Hanging Handbag Organizer-Canvas/Natural " may be exactly what you need to organize your closet. The sturdy canvas construction, the bound edges, and the heavy, wire hanging frame assure that your organizer will not collapse or tear apart. The four rectangular sections in the center measure approximately 6 wide X 7" high X 13 1/2" deep. The diagonal measurement is approximately 9". I had to place several handbags that are 4" wide X 8 1/2" high X 11 1/2" long on the diagonal to fit them into the center section. The sling style side pockets do accommodate this size handbag more easily. However, the top section that holds the metal hanging frame could not be used to accommodate these larger bags. The organizer can be hung on the lower of a tiered hanging bar as long as the top of the rod on which you hang the organizer is at least 39" off the floor.

Product Not The Same As Picture
This product seems to be nicely constructed, but it will not serve the purpose for which I purchased it for. The size is basically a glorified shoe organizer. I did not expect my larger bags to fit, but I can only fit 1 bag without forcing it and I cannot force my Florentine leather bags without scratching them. When you receive the product, the picture of the product looks much larger than what you get. If you know your handbags, you can clearly see that the bags pictured are not clutch bags, but structured, hard bags with size. The smallest bag pictured takes up less than 2/3 the space of the center cubby hole. In order for this to happen, the bag would have to be less than 4 inches high because the measurement of the center cubby hole is barely 7 inches. If you look at a tape measure and measure 4 inches, that is barely the size of a wristlet. I am very disappointed in this product. I gave it 3 stars because it is a well made product (but be prepared to have to assemble the hooks yourself!) and I am sure that smaller items can be organized, but I have precious closet space that I cannot afford to lose when I can just buy an over the door shoe organizer.

Exactly what I needed
This product is great--sturdy and well-made.Unlike some of the other reviewers, I do not have problems fitting extra-large bags and purses into the organizer. Sometimes the over-sized purses have to fold over or lie flat, so obviously they have to be *empty* and not *full* purses, but I generally store all my purses as empty and only fill them when I go out. I even have two giant carpet bag purses stored in the organizer. If you want a purse organizer that can store large purses that are completely full, you should probably find one that allows them to hang freely so they're not restricted to space (otherwise you're just going to need giant bins). Each pocket is big enough to store several small purses/clutches, about two medium sizes purses, or one large/extra-large size purse.I uploaded some pictures I took of how I use my purse organizer (see the custer images when you click through the main product image), so you can see what it actually holds.

Seems to be sturdy and well engineered
I bought this to replace a cheaper handbag holder which was supported by a single hook from a dowel on top that broke pretty quickly. This holds more handbags, has two hooks to distribute the weight away from a single stress point and is made of canvas. It looks as if it'll be pretty sturdy and hold up.

Great for a small storage space.
I bought this handbag organizer because I had recently brought the over the door plastic organizer and it tore immediately because it can't hold very many bags. I bought another one of those and only placed a few bags in it, like two per shelf (It is still wanting to tear) but I used this one for overflow because I have one of those low bars in my closet, so it works really well. It holds enough stuff and it's very sturdy. I wish they made the over the closet door one in the same design as my plastic one, but out of cloth like this one. I believe this one will last for a long time. If you have a small area and you need to store a few handbags and/or accessories this is a good choice.

As Described
After much research I settled on this item as I wanted an organizer which would not involve plastic (owing to the possibility that the plastic would tear or otherwise deteriorate). This organiser is made of a durable canvas material and is able to hold bags of multiple sizes in each slot(except for large totes).Caveat: it does take up considerable space in the closet so if your closet is already a close fit this may not be the item for you.

Organizers dream
This worked out perfectly for my front hall closet. I am always changing bags as I am about to leave, and this is able to accommodate several smaller sized purses which I switch out frequently. I place my larger purses on the shelf above the clothes rod. I also keep a few wallets in one of the pockets. It really worked for me! Since it fits to the side of the closet, I didn't really care about the fabric or its color, so long as it was sturdy enough for my needs. Besides, I hang up my guests coats...and since we are in Florida, that doesn't happen frequently!

A Must-Have for Every Woman
I am so glad I found this purse organizer. There are 10 slots, but I have managed to stuff 16 purses (from tote size to messenger bag size to smaller wristlets) in it. I should probably buy another one soon! I love the durable material that does not stain my bags (especially Burberry's signature canvas). If you have a larger shopper tote, you will have trouble fitting it in here. For those who do not have any space in their closet to hang this up, I recommend buying a cheap pull-up bar and hanging it in your doorway. When I'm in a rush, I grab a purse and run out my door!
