Review: The best of the bunch, IMHO! - I have been trying a few different electric pressure cookers over the last couple of weeks, namely the Instant Pot (IP) and Pressure King Pro (PKP) models as shown in the photos. There are quite a few others, but I think the comments below will also apply. I have used a standard hob based pressure cooker before but these provide a whole new level of cooking options. I am probably late to the party, but glad I got here in the end :) Although the various models basically do the same thing, I have to say the IP for me, has the most flexability and seems to be very well built. I think it was the first to come out or has certainly been around a while. Here are few things that I found when I was looking to to buy one of these pressure cookers. 1. Are accessories easily available ? 2. When using a glass lid (assuming the model you buy has one available) will all the non pressure options be available ? The PKPs safety features will only allow the browning function with the stock lid off. This seems to be a function of the latest model and took an age to confirm from the maker. 3. Are there different heat settings for the sauté/browning option ? PKP only has one, which is hot and I found quickly burnt. The IP has three. 4. What is support like from both manufactures and other pot users ? The PKP is of course half the price but I found the IP to be of much better quality specifically the plastic handle, finish, and quality of the inner pot. The bowl/inner pot is also stainless steel rather than non stick (some non stick models have coatings that can flake off after a while) and having a 3-ply base can also be used on a hob unlike some of the other inner pots. I have now purchased an additional inner pot and glass lid for the IP, which I would highly recommend! Having said all that, I am sure either one will revolutionize and spur you on to more creative cooking, which is what the IP has done fo me. A highly recommended purchase, really glad I got one!

**Q: does the food taste good somebody told me the it didn't taste the same done in a pressure cooker so does it taste good please**
A: sometimes pressure cookers do change the way food tastes, becaus eyou have to add an amount of water that may not be the same, or because the programmes do not cook it how you like it, some like very overcooked carrots, some like them crunchy still, so the texture of a preprogrammed thing is going to be some arbitrary "ideal" cooking point. it may not be to your liking so they have the ability to either increase or decrease the time and or pressure. meats cooked in a slow cooker are also quite different in texture, usually more soft, many people may not like this and prefere a chewey stew or casserole to a soft slow cooked peice of meat. the taste is going to  be somewhere llike boiling steaming or casseroling... versus frying whihc also is a different taste to pressure cooking. but you dont realllly pressure cook frying things, you pressure cook things that you would usually boil or steam,  or casserole and stew, meats like tough stewing steak or shoulders of pork, thing slike rice and grains or beans, and all of those things will taste similar to how they do when you boil steam or casserole them. things like carrots or veggies whihc you may enjoy lightly stir fried could taste very different coming out of a pressure cooker. but then they would taste very sifferent boiled. one thing i do dislike myself is vegatables done in pressure, or slow cooked, they seem to lose all their texture, and you cant add them in at the end because it takes  while for pressure to release. you can with teh slow cooking though, its awesome for tough meat to become tender but dreadful if you add vegatables in for slow cooking. they just take such different times its not possible to cook them all togther at one time and have them be perfectly cooked. and where with a nromal pot you can throw things in at the end you cant do that when using pressure mode. hope that helps.

**Q: interested in rising bread dough in it, any information would great not sure what programmme to use.**
A: Hi - you can use the Yogurt setting for this - on 'normal' yogurt the temp is 40c but on 'less' the temperature is 34c which I believe is the optimum level. Perhaps for a moist dough you could add water in the bottom - warm it for 1 minute using saute then put the dough in a bowl on the trivet.

**Q: I see on the Instant Pot website that there is a new model with some sort of bluetooth connection. Is this that model?**
A: No it is the one before, the duo60 7 in 1. This one is absolutely fantastic. In the 3 days I've had it I have made every single meal in it (also pre cooked for the dogs) from fresh yogurt over night,  poached eggs, porridge, rice and chicken pasanda curry to sautéing lamb shank to cooking the same for pulling then adding and making an italian sauce to the dry pasta and cooking it all in one. Every single bit has come out super and with only one -two button pushes and no watching over it.After reading up on the new bluetooth I decided I didn't need to go high tech. For me there is less to go wrong with this model and as my husband will be using it too (who is technophobe) he gets impatient with tech stuff it's best to use this one. But who know maybe one day I'll change my mind.

**Q: This Instant Pot IP-DUO60 is 6L, right?  How many cups of rice will be cooked in this 6L pot? Can the pot also accommodate a whole chicken?**
A: 3 cups of rice and yes a whole chicken can be acommodated

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A useful product for modern life that can save time and efforts

First I bought the 3L and I am using it in the last 8 months since I bought it. I use it extensively. I mainly use it in Steam mode to steam vegetables sometimes with meat (Hamburgers Beef fillets). I adjust it for 5 min. steaming and it results excellent. In addition I drink the water that is soaked with the vegetable and meat liquids as a "soup". In addition, I use it in in "Pressure" mode to cook Soy and Check beans. I also use it to prepare the Japanese Natto in "Yogurt" mode. Also, I prepare Soft-boiled eggs in "Steam" mode adjusting 1-minute time. I recently bought the bigger one the "5.7L" and I use it in the same modes as the 3L. For the Natto, I use now the 5.7L since I can prepare more quantity of Natto. I am planning to also to make Yogurt. By the way, I find that the 3L in the "Pressure" mode cooks the beans faster than the 5.7L. Maybe because it is smaller and has less mass to heat. I cannot explain this phenomenon. Meaning that in the 5.7L I need more time ~10% to complete the cook. But it is not a problem at all. Both the 3L and 5.7L are good products. The 3L is more compact and sits perfectly in my small kitchen and it is good for 2 persons. The 5.7L is good for more persons I estimate 4-6 persons but I did not checked this i issue. I am satisfied from both products the 3L and 5.7L. Now they are part of my kitchen hardware and save me time and efforts for prepare dishes.
