Inconsistent screen clarity
Update: We must have received a dud, or maybe one that someone broke and returned and it was packaged up and sent out. I bought a new one just to see if it was a fluke, turns out it was. This monitor is phenomenal. The range is excellent, everything about it is excellent. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. The range for us turned out to be about 180 yards with multiple walls of interference. It's been close to a year with the replacement and it works as if it was brand new. Will buy for future monitor needs as well. This camera worked wonderfully for 3 whole days. I was so impressed with the video quality that I kept taking pictures of the screen. I included a daytime and nighttime picture of the screen. After day 3, either the camera or the screen completely crapped out. I either get lines through the screen such as in my included picture, a black screen, or a screen that has messed up contrast to the point you can’t see your child. I have rebooted everything multiple times, and it will work again for a day or 2, and then I have to do it all over. My breaking point was when I was watching the monitor and it had perfect clarity, and for no reason switched over to all the lines. There was no change in light or movement in the room, baby was completely asleep. Absolute garbage for the price. Very disappointed as we needed a long range monitor and this one had the best reviews for that. Will be returning.

After 9 months of use I recommend this one!
I have used this for 9 months now, I was worried after reading some negative reviews before I bought it of saying how the battery is bad, how the whole thing died after only a few months of use, etc. However, I am pleasently surprised, when I put my little one to sleep in the evening I sometimes stay up for a really long time and the battery holds out for around 4-5 hours. Night vision and picture in general is good, nothing over the top, but not needed for the schere purpose of knowing if the baby is still asleep or has woken up. Sound is good. You can pretty much adjust every and anything. It has music that can play remotely, change camera angles remotley (if your little one wanders around the crib like ours), you can adjust alerts as well. The only thing that might be off is the thermometer l, sometimes it shows a higher temp by 5, 6 degrees, which can be confusing at first, just keep an eye on that still. Maybe it's just ours that has a slight malfunction, but the settings for temp alerts can be changed as well. All in all would totally recommend, it's a reasonable price compared to others and has worked well so far.

This is amazing and a grandmas secret tool to babysitting
My favorite things about this camera that I use for my grandbabies: 1. Panasonic’s baby monitor is long-range with a long-life battery 2. It provides the user with zero interruptions/alerts on your phone, because it has its own monitor, as opposed to a monitor that links to a mobile device. 3. Operates on its own frequency, so no one can tap into the Baby Monitor via WiFi. 4. The monitor provides great video quality and top-of-the-line features, such as Smart Sensors for motion and temperature. 5. The fact that it’s portable to bring to my house from my daughters or sons house. 6. It gives me confidence that my grandbabies are safe while I’m baking sourdough bread or working in my home office The Panasonic Baby Monitor helps to create the ideal balance because it is a dedicated, secure, long-range system that tells you what you need to know when you need to know it. I highly recommend this monitor for parents and grandparents alike

Do Not Buy!
We initially loved this camera because it has a long range and the quality of the picture was comparable with other cameras. However, after only a few months we noticed it dies quickly even when it is in standby mode. The battery does not last long, so it constantly needs to stay plugged in. The monitor FAILED and would not turn on and WOULD NOT CHARGE. Broken before we even owned it one year. Panasonic said they will not replace it. The warranty only covers mail in service to repair the product and we have to live without in the meantime and pay the cost of shipping. There are known issues with the battery and ability to charge. Panasonic continues to sell a defaulted product. There customer service was also horrible. No customer service phone to contact and no one appeared via chat until my 3rd attempt. DO NOT BUY! YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR!

18 months later...
We purchased this item 18 months ago. We have it mounted on the wall, which makes the viewing angle.. special, for the most part, but doable. The pan and tilt is a nice function but does leave a blind spot if you are trying to mount it above the bed. We just pulled the crib away from the wall a few inches and all was fine. We are now running into issues with it "charging" and sometimes it says there is an error. When you unplug it, it shuts off but turns back on when the charger is reconnected. Not a dealbreaker. Battery life is meh, especially at this point. It only lasts a few hours with no movement if it's not charging - but then again, I have a toddler now so it's really a moot point. We don't need the monitor all day long for a gazillion naps a day anymore. The zoom is okay, I rarely use it since we have it mounted above the bed. Motion detection and noise alerts are adjustable and work well, there is a constant volume on it if you have a noise machine going. To get it to stay quiet, you'll need to shut the volume off which may or may not work for some people but the screen lights up when there is movement or noise above the set threshold. The "extended" range is a joke. I'm sure it works better than others but by no means is this gonna get you very far. I can usually go outside and about 4 houses down (very close houses) before I start having issues. The main point of this "long range" was really to be able to walk to our bus stop and pick up the other kid if one was napping, it doesn't work. So I basically facetime an ipad and set up a stream from there to make sure everything is okay from my phone since they're secure in their crib. It works all the way through the house and into the yard so there's that, but we have a very small lot so if you have some land - you may not get the same mileage. Overall, not a bad purchase it has absolutely done it's job for this long and I'm not upset with this purchase. It definitely stretched the distance further than our first one that was a knock off video monitor. I prefer this one over that for sure but did wish it had a bit more range. Oh, but the temperature monitor is absolutely not accurate. We have a thermostat dot in the room after the monitor kept telling us it was 86 in there (it wasn't).

Finally, no more dropped signals
Picture says it all! No constant signal drops like infant optics. I wanted to write this review, because you need to know if you are comparing to the infant optics. This has all the same features, and doesn’t drop signal all the time. So I would recommend this any day. For 7 years I’ve used infant optics. The signal constantly was interrupted, even in the next room. I resolved to dealing with it. It finally died, and I was so excited! I got this Panasonic, and I’m so happy with the signal. I’m only a hallway and room away. But my old 2.4Ghz was constantly interrupted with other normal WiFi signals and such. This 1.92Ghz range is way better for people who have WiFi, TVs and other such devices in their houses. I’m so happy that I’m not constantly getting “No signal” blank screens like the infant optics. A few things. The cord on the camera is soooooo long. Understandable, but I just don’t need it. The cord on the monitor is not as long. I don’t have a plug close by, and it doesn’t have USB. Also, the camera is a touch louder when you remotely move it. It was already paired. So after putting in the battery, I turned it on and it worked. All these companies market the 2.4Ghz as being the best on the market. I disagree, there are already so many devices on this frequency. This slightly lower frequency works much better in my opinion. Good luck.

Love the rotating camera!
I got this as a gift for a friend with a new baby and toddler, so I let her give me her review of the product to post: “Setup was very quick and easy to follow. The rotating camera (pan, title, zoom) is my favorite feature as it allows me to see all over the room and the motion censor notifies me whenever there is movement in the room. The monitor lights up green or red depending on how much movement there is. The monitor captures sound really well, there are little icons at the top of the monitor that appear when the baby is moving or talking so if I am not in hearing range the monitor will let me know. The ability to play lullaby’s through it is an added plus! Overall this is a really good baby monitor but would have liked it to have more than one camera” (I let her know that she could purchase add on cameras on Amazon if she wanted to expand)

Pricey but Good Qualty
We debated a lot about whether or not to buy this one. For the price of this model with one camera, you can find other baby monitors from unknown brands with two cameras. Still, we wanted the brand name reputation. Glad we did. The picture quality is solid, the fit and finish is great, and it has nice features. The range is good, though it does not reach the 1500 feet that are claimed. Maybe in an open field it would get that range but in a suburban neighborhood, it gets much less (maybe 500 feet at best).

Fantastic Range and Two Way Mic
Pros: Love the range on this thing, very few deadspots around our 3 bedroom, two living room, quite large house. Picture and sound are always clear even if the signal appears weak. Temperature setting is a bit off by 1 or two degrees at time, but no big deal. Motion and sound detection sensitivity is great, along with the little icons that show up. Screen will be off unless there's an alert that will switch it back on (great for battery life), and there's a color indicator bar that you can customize according to color and what that color would mean according to the alert. The ONLY Con: If you turn the sound to full, things get static like a heavy metal guitarist shredding a solo while singing on vocals. Solution, just don't set the volume to max setting. Mid to Mid-high is plenty loud.

Top quality and nice features
Good quality overall. Nice to be able to remotely move the camera, define squares within the frame for monitoring and set different triggers. The build quality is good and solid for what it is. The lullabies are useful though still loud at the lowest volume and anything above the second volume sounds really bad. The speaker is probably the biggest weakness, but I think the other features make up for this. As this is the American version you'll need a plug adapter for Australian outlets. Shame there's no Australian version.
