Question 1

How long roughly is the front camera cable? I want it to fit into a vauxhall zafira. Many thanks

Accepted Answer

I have a zafira. Have fit the cable along the driver side windscreen and above window. Down the seatbelt cover and under car mat rear passenger side and plugged into rear plug

Question 2

Can it connect by usb in the car as i dont have a cigarette lighter

Accepted Answer

You do get a usb cable for the device however it is very short (approx 0.8m). The issue is when you use the usb as your power supply it presumes you are trying to get videos from the device so it does not record unless you play around with the buttons a bit every time you start the car. I had this issue as my cars 12v never turns off when something is plugged in so Id suggest to anyone buying a dash cam to check if your cars 12v turns off when the car is locked/off. To test plug in a phone and lock the car to see if it still charges. Hope this helps

Question 3

Does it let you know when memory is nearly full so I can back my footage up before it records over it

Accepted Answer

No but it generally lasts about 8 hours of it recording however this is dependant on if you are using the rear camera also

Question 4

Can you power it via usb, as the power cable supplied does not work?

Accepted Answer

The USB port might not provide enough power and recording will not start automatically and the rear camera view will not be available as well. That was the case in my car. When I connected the camera to the cigarette lighter port everything worked fine as this port provides more current than the USB port. So try to test the camera in different cars and see if it works. Maybe you will have to connect it to the fuse box or the car battery directly. I'm not an expert so I'm not sure about it. I just want to give some ideas about potential solutions but you need to find it out by yourself. Just to let you know, the cigarette lighter power adapter included in the kit provides 1.5A of current.
