It has a very high attenuation outside of the 5MHz bandpass region, centered around 137.5MHz, and a minimum of 30dB of gain within the bandpass region. Nominal current draw is 180mA. The SAWbird+ series contains 2 ultra-low-noise LNAs sandwiched around a custom-designed, high-performance SAW filter centered at the frequency of interest. Each LNA module has 2 EMI shields to separate each delicate LNA from external interference. There are also M3 mounting holes available to mount the PCB in your custom enclosure or project with standard hardware. Each module allows for 3 different power options, but you should only power with one option at any given time! The recommended power input through the SMA output port (for bias-tee capable SDRs like the NESDR SMArTee) is 3V-5V DC. Alternatively, if you don't have a bias-tee capable SDR, you can use the external power options through the microUSB port or the power input header (female 0.1" header). The recommended external power input is 3.3V-5.5V DC. Though there is protection circuitry on the SAWbird for overvoltage conditions, and voltages of up to 12V DC should still work and will not damage the device, it is not recommended for long-term usage. It's very sharp on the lower side, providing strong attenuation to airband and FM broadcast, but rolls off more gently on the other side, still allowing some of the very strong 153MHz pager signals through. Realistically, I'm not sure the LNA is needed. I get reasonable signal strength for NOAA satellites with just a V-dipole. The high gain means I'm brining up the noise as well as signal, and it's overwhelming rtlsdr dongles. Just a filter might work better for me, but your mileage may vary. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Still learning *by A***R on 12 January 2023* I purchased this because it's a recommended product on RTLSDR forums and sites for downloading the weather satellite footage from the NOAA sites over using a generic wideband LNA I have yet to o gain a good image. This isn't the product it's just me because I'm relatively new and still learning. The sawbird filter has an adaptive draw I wasn't powering mine through a USB socket or dc jack I used a bench power supply Initially I had the voltage set as 4.5v however I discovered this was actually too much ( but within range) and it wasn't applying much gain I reduced the voltage down to 3v and it's usage went to 0.35A and then it got about 30db gain in signal So it does work. However I need to take my equipment outside and add grounding straps because I'm getting a lot of electrical interference I also need to bukd a better aerial.
