Yes, there is some from the tomatoes. Only two ingredient in the sauce Tomatoes and salt, pretty nice in my opinion.

Were the tomatoes grown with pesticide

Don't know. I have a lot of allergies & this is one of the few tomato sauces I can use.

That is a good question. I looked on the side of the carton and the ingredient list, tomatoes. I am guessing it is the amount of tomatoes they use and any seasoning. Also, on the carton is a recipe to make tomato soup; which shows you the versatility of the product.

Simple but delicious

First time trying "Passata", and now I am kicking myself. For the ignorant like me, Passata is comprised solely of fresh tomatoes and salt, and it is uncooked (which I did not know). Perfectly smooth. It is thicker than tomato juice but thinner and more liquid than tomato paste. The salt is at the perfect level. Wonderful product
