Everyone has either dry, flaky earwax or wet/tacky earwax - according to Wikipedia: "There are two distinct genetically determined types of earwax: the wet type, which is dominant, and the dry type, which is recessive. While Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type of cerumen (gray and flaky), African and European people are more likely to have the wet type (honey-brown to dark-brown and moist)". Of course, it's not all about ethnicity - your exercise habits (i.e. frequent swimming) and hygiene routine (do you rinse your ears under the showerhead?) also affect the "quality" of your earwax, but this sweet oil seems to do a very good job softening DRY earwax! I bet they do even better for the tacky kind of earwax. Hydrogen-peroxide drops feel good because they fizz, but I've found it doesn't help to actually soften my very, very dry earwax. My earwax is so dry it almost seems to be a hard "plaster" against the sides of my ears, and is difficult to budge in any way. Using this sweet oil makes it much easier to CAREFULLY remove some earwax. The dropper is very helpful, as some sweet oils out there don't include one (and you'd have to buy it separately). A good routine: put 5 - 7 drops in each ear, once or twice per day, for 3 - 5 days. Spend at least a few minutes to keep your head tilted to the opposite side so the oil can stay "in" the ear canal for as long as possible. I've found it helpful and relaxing to do this while laying down, but it also works well while sitting up - you just have to keep your head tilted. Also, try to wait at least 30 minutes after taking a shower to use the drops. I've found there can be a slight ringing or uncomfortable sensation if you put the drops in when there is still water in your ear. One thing to note is that although this sweet oil definitely helps to relieve itchiness, it might not work instantaneously. It is, however, soothing. If your itching doesn't go away, or if it is accompanied by any stinging, burning, or throbbing, you might want to visit your doctor - it might be an infection, and they can prescribe corticosteroids or antibiotics. I wonder how many times I wrote "earwax"? :D

## Features

- Household Uses: Sweet oil can be used as a natural remedy for snoring. Drinking a glass of water with 1tbsp of sweet oil can coat the throat and help treat the dryness that causes snoring. This oil can also be used to polish furniture, since it brings out the natural tones and highlights in wood, as well as conditioning it to help it last longer.
- Cosmetic Uses: Sweet oil is commonly used as a moisturizer and skin soother as it helps your skin retain moisture naturally. It can also be used as a substitute for shaving cream. This oil has also been used as a hair treatment for dry or brittle hair. Sweet oil can also be used to soften and moisturize cuticles so that they can be pushed back.
- Medical Uses: Sweet oil is known most for its effective treatment of earaches and swimmer’s ear. It is also commonly used to aid in healing cuts and scrapes.
- Culinary Uses: Sweet oil can be used in moderation as a healthier form of fat than lard, shortening butter, margarine, and most cooking oils. Updating product information and bullets.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it good for itchy ears? How do you warm it? Do yoy ibsert the bottle in warm water or put somecdrops in warm water?**
A: Don’t know if it’s good for itchy ears. You can use it to soften ear wax so it’s easier to remove. I would suggest putting the bottle in warm water. It would help make it warmer for your ear. It never made any difference to my ear. As far as itchy ears this would add more moisture and my make it more itchy

**Q: I need to get rid of ear wax build up. Does this product work for that?**
A: Yes it’s great

**Q: How can i be certain that this is the authentic product, processed in the same standards and quality as the humco brand name suggests ?**
A: All I know is it works. There are other products Also at Amazon that combined with this certainly helped my Earaches.

**Q: How can you say imported or made in the usa? which is it?**
A: U.S.A.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Itchy, eczema ears plus blockage
*by A***T on February 2, 2023*

The nearest ENT is a city away and booked for two months out. Meanwhile, the eczema in my ear canals (a new development) was itching and flaking and sore. I also had build-up of wax and debris (gross, I know) that muffled my hearing and caused pain. The cortisone & antibiotic drops my GP prescribed seemed to make the eczema worse, and did nothing to help with wax removal. I could not find sweet oil at any store, so ordered it here. (A pharmacist later told me I could just have used my kitchen olive oil, but I am happier with a small dedicated bottle and dropper, anyway). I swab a bit inside my ear, in the outer ear canal and allow it to gently drip down (head tilted). I was apprehensive about putting much of anything at all in there to add to the pressure. The oil sooths the ear canal and seems to limit the eczema itching and flaking. (So relieved!) Additionally, I found that it did soften the wax deep inside my canal and made it possible to (VERY carefully) remove with a Clinere ear spoon. I am considering cancelling my appointment with the ENT, still 2 weeks away. I'll see how it goes, but so far, the sweet oil is helping more than anything I've tried. I can hear!
