Westminster Magnetic Sand Timer

So, I won one of these at Dave & Buster's and gave it to my man as a surprise! He thought it was super cool and decided to show it off. Lo and behold, he dropped it and it shattered everywhere! (We have hard floors, it's not a problem with the piece itself!) He was so bummed, that I decided to buy him a replacement. This one arrived safe and sound and has been moved to a carpeted room so it stays safe! The designs the pieces make are fun to watch and it's a neat keepsake. Great for gifting!

Bought this to replace one that I broke at work. Good quality and works great.

The hourglass is filled with lead filings (or something like that) and it sits on a copper base with a magnet on the underside. Flip the hourglass and watch the filings stack up with all kinds of formations from the magnetic field beneath. It's just fun to watch. This is only a 30-second hourglass -- if it was a minute it would be 5 stars.

Be careful, Very Fragile. Fell off my desk onto carpet and broke. Also the glass smears very easily heads up. Cool while it lasted. Helped manage my ADHD and increase work productivity.

I bought a bunch of these to give as christmas presents for my labmates (I thought it was a cute idea because we work with magnetism). When I got the package I pulled one of them out to begin wrapping, but I saw some magnetic sand beneath it. Damn, this one broke, but I opened it to make sure. Yup, it was broken. Pictures are of the first box I pulled out. Hopefully the others are OK... TURNS OUT ALL OF THEM HAVE SAND UNDER THEM! Maybe that was just the sand from the first broken one... NOPE, ALL 8 ARE BROKEN!!! Oh, and now there is sand all over my room. You might as well buy one of those spring loaded glitter bombs for yourself, at least that has pretty colors. I do not see any damage to the package that could have caused this. Regardless, the packaging does not protect the hourglass well. Also the glass itself is very thin. It is overall a really crummy product that is a pain to clean up when it breaks.

I bought this magnetic timer because I was playing with one that our secretary had on her desk at work and I dropped it and it broke, it looks and functions the same as hers so I replaced the one I broke

è bellissima... il tempo di discesa della limatura di ferro è come scritto, circa 30 secondi. la clessidra, già piccola di suo, può sembrare anche abbastanza vuota, ma credo che con maggiori quantità di limatura, dopo un po' svanirebbe l'effetto del campo magnetico, mostrando solo il contenuto depositato sul fondo. invece con questa quantità, anche quando è scesa tutta, resta sempre la forma finale con la limatura magnetizzata, quindi anche da ferma fa la sua bella figura.

While it is an hourglass with iron and a magnet base, it's not the same one as in any of the photos. Different base and a much shorter fall timer. The one shown in the photos last around 30 seconds, this one is closer to 12
