These are just stamped & formed sheet metal clips that should cost a few pennies to make, and yet here I am to say that the $7.19 that I paid for these was very well worth it. I had one odd shaped recessed lighting can in one of my bathrooms. I couldn't get any of the 3 methods that Halo offered me with their LED retrofit kit to work. The best I could do was have them hang down below the ceiling by 1/4" with the spring attachment method. It looked horrible and was a pain if I ever needed to remove them (like when I painted that ceiling). Enter these clips. They slid right over the metal rim of the lighting can with a nice retention barb to hold them in (and possible provide a decent ground return). And then the handy torsion springs fit right up into them. My LED retrofits went right up into these clips and held snug to the ceiling. The product was perfect in every way....except for the price. Good thing that I only needed one set!

When I tried to replace a broken cover for a recessed light over a shower, I found that my recessed lighting cans did not have retainer clips needed to hold the spring-loaded covers in place. I purchased these and they slide over the edge of the can and I immediately installed the cover. I tried another version which require a screw to install which was a total hassle. These work without any problems. Highly recommend.

I have some sort of weird builder installed cans in the ceiling that do not allow standard light fixture's 2 spring clips. It basically has one spring clip that hangs from the can and does not come off. so I needed these to retrofit without removing the current cans. These were just what I needed. I had to hammer them in towards the last 1/2 inch which turned out the exactly what I needed because screwing in from the side is not an optimal option because the existing cans are made out of steel, not aluminum.Great product.Oh, BTW, why does the price fluctuate? Now it is more expensive in such a short time?!

Work as advertised. We wanted to convert everything over to Retrofit LED canned lights but our existing cans didn’t have the mounting clips for the retro lights spring clips. Purchasing these was much easier and more cost effective than buying all new canned lighting. It’s better to open them up a bit if the location of the clip needs to be over the thicker part of the can. Would buy again.

I'm the one in our home to fix everything. The can light in our shower stall broke, I went to a box store and was directed to buy a LED retrofit light. That install was easy, it just did not stay up in the ceiling. After some online searching I came across these and thought I'd give them a try. It was a bit tricky to slide the clip on to edge of the round metal can thing (I am not well versed in the correct lingo). I used a needle nose pliers to spread the opening a bit, and I was able to slip the clips on. Hooking the springs from light was very easy and once I pushed the light fixture up towards the ceiling...it stayed flush! The entire process took less than 10 minutes. 5 stars from me!

The brackets in my can were broken and I could not find an alternative that would arrive in a reasonable time. These brackets arrived quickly and clipped in to replace the broken brackets. Unfortunately, one of the arms broke on the replacement brackets too! Works well in a pinch, absolute rip off in terms of price.
