Almost everything that's not rechargeable these days, comes requiring a battery not included. Not this one! Not only are there batteries in it already, so it's ready to use(after removing the paper blocking the battery from running down), but it has a 4 pack of spare batteries in the box! Awesome customer care! 👏 I tested it on some bolts, washers & nuts. It worked like a charm. There is a magnet at both ends, so if you don't need the flashlight (for behind something) you can use the other end as well. It telescopes out in the same way as the older model car radio antennas did (as mine still does😂). The end has a section which is bendable/shapeable, so it can reach around something. That section is strong enough to hold it's shape while I pulled the handle of a broom back to me from behind the freezer.*My only negative about the entire thing is that the magnet does not work around the sides of the light(at the end), only on the face of the light(a small section shaped like a washer is the magnet🧲 around the light itself). It would be extremely helpful if the sides of the light were also magnetic for an area of about a quarter inch up from the light end. Other than that, I absolutely love it and had wanted one for some time. When I saw the 'lighting deal', I grabbed it!

I got this for my husband for a Valentine's gift. He was happily surprised. We don't drop items very often but I look forward to using it successfully when we do. It seems very sturdy, came with replacement batteries, has a light, has a flexible tip, and has a strong magnet on one end with a bit of a less strong magnet on the other [the lighted end]. It is nice to have.

Quality all around. I even used it to get socks from behind the dryer. Just the fact that it has batteries installed and backups just shows the extra effort.

I bought this for my husband to use in his shop, I guess I should have checked the dimensions and size as it arrived it a really small box and ended being the size of a small thin flashlight but it does expand! I wish it had a sturdier base so it could stand on its own easier but overall it is works for the light and the magnetic part which will come in handy.

This is exactly what I needed for retrieving the pins and needles that always escape when I'm sewing. It doesn't take up much room yet extends to reach out while I'm still seated, the magnet is plenty strong, and the light is a godsend while searching for those escapees (I'd rather find them while I'm working, before my feet do - ouch!). I've even used it to retrieve a screw that fell into the works of my machine.

Handy tool for reaching and seeing dropped fine stuff in hard to reach places. Light is bright.

Bought two as gifts. Make sure to always read instructions. I pushed the button to turn on the flashlight and they didn't work. Disappointed. Since neither of them worked I thought I should see if there were instructions and if batteries were loaded. Lol instructions said to remove insulation strip from battery before using. I did and they both work. All features work as described. I'm impressed.
