Jim Jefferies: I Swear to God

Raunchy ! This guy has a mouth that would make a sailor blush .. ! and I mean the Worst curse words you can imagine .. the content (especially towards the end) isn't much better either ! talking about some realllly raunchy situations .. all pretty funny, but if you're like me, and know that humor doesn't hav to be Vulgar, you might appreciate this in a passing sort-of-way .. yes you will laugh, but its like listening to some middle school kids and yes, while laughable and entertaining, you know there are Better grades of comedy out there .. 4 Stars because yes hes funny . Not 5 by far, but 3.5- 4 stars for what it is ..

'This must have been an early period in his career OR he's just not very good as an offensive comedian. Example: Ten minutes on trying to get a vibrating egg out of his butt isn't offensive or funny - it's boring after the setup of how/why he has the egg up his butt. His stories go on too long....

Many bad reviews have focused on the profanity, jokes on religion, and the shocking delivery. these make Jim Jefferies' special worth watching over and over again. I have seen this special three times already and it still has not gotten old. If you begin this special and quit after three or four minutes, because its too offensive, then you are a child unable to handle grown up themes. Watch this special all the way through, and you will laugh until you cant breathe. Jim Jefferies begins with his routine with a few self-depreciation jokes and ends with a hilarious story about an exciting trip to Amsterdam; between these two parts, he jokes about the absurdity of religion, the banality of sex, the horror of life, and his dysfunctional family. A must see for any fans of comedy or for any human being.

At the start, my Catholic wife wanted to strangle him with a great vengeance. By the last 10 minutes we were both laughing so hard we could not look at each other. We have not laughed that hard in a long time. Stay to the end. It is WORTH IT!!!!

Very funny but <caution> crude with capital C. For those of you who are easily offended (not me) you might not want to watch this but for those of you who can laugh at COMEDY this is a funny show. I stress "comedy" because this, like most all comedians, tell stories that we are thinking about but do not normally say out loud so you can't really get angry at the messenger.

This guy is, for me, a breath of fresh air. Wish I had the courage and ability to do what he does. Everyone.... Just take a moment in time and think about what he is saying. Perhaps you will come away with a different way of thinking. Even if you don't think differntly- Isn't it our God's gift that you can think differntly, yet still hear differnt thoughts without being afraid of being imprissioned? That's what America is all about! We can differ about what we believe is true, yet allow others to believe what they believe is true. The whole point is: after death we are obliged to discover what is or is not true. Meantime, our friends and others should be allowed to believe as they do. The ends will tell it all!- In the meantime; laugh at those things which make us laugh, scowl at those thing which make us scowl. However, in the meantime, try and be as good a human being as is possible for you to be.... .

I found his standup to be funny, but not everyone will. His last bit of this set takes a turn towards scatological humor that many may not like. But to me, good humor is always willing to take a subject you are uncomfortable with and make it humorous.

One of the best stand up DVD's i've seen. Shame Jim is a relative unknown in the UK as I think he could really sell some DVD's. WARNING, this is not for the faint hearted. But had me crying with laughter. He is like an Australian Frankie Boyle. Awesome.

If you have never seen Jim Jeffries (proper pre USA move spelling) then this is where to begin. This is his first break out special that aired on HBO in 2009 I believe. Not for the faint of heart or anyone who takes themselves too seriously.
