What is the class type of this hard hat?

This is a type 1 class E Z89.1 2009. However, OSHA made updates to the type 1 classification (Z89.1 2014) so now many work sites are requiring that the hard hat meet these new standards. One should consider buying a "2014" classified hard hat to avoid not being allowed on the job site because your hard hat does not meet current OSHA standards.

What is the helmet made from? Metal? Fiber? Thermoplastic?

The manufacturer's name is "Fibre-Metal". They were recently purchased by Honeywell Safety. The hat is neither fiber nor metal. It's made of a thermoplastic material. There's two types of Fiberglass hats on the market. The MSA skullgard which is a phenolic fiberglass and the Fibre-Metal P2A which is injection molded. The other person who answered is referring to the skullgard hat when they mention the $75-100 price range. The P2A hat is much cheaper. The bullard is not a bad hat. However, from our experience the fibre-metal full brims traditionally rate higher with customers. Feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
