Perfect pumps for vertical hydroponics I've been running both of these VIVOSUN pumps in my hydroponic tower system for almost six months straight and they've performed flawlessly. The 210 gallons per hour flow rate is ideal for circulating nutrient solution up a 5 foot tower without overwhelming the plant sites. At only 8 watts each, the electrical consumption is negligible even running 24/7, and my electric meter confirms they're pulling exactly what's advertised. The 3.3 foot maximum lift height is the sweet spot for most vertical systems. I measured the actual output at different heights, and at 3 feet the flow drops to around 180 GPH, which still maintains proper circulation for my setup. The adjustable flow knob on top gives fine control over pump speed, letting me dial in the exact flow needed as plants grow and nutrient uptake changes. Build quality surprised me at this price point. The pump housing measures 2.87 by 1.65 by 2.2 inches, making it compact enough to fit in tight reservoir spaces. The impeller disassembles without tools for monthly cleaning, which takes about 90 seconds. After half a year of continuous operation in nutrient solution with pH ranging from 5.8 to 6.2, there's no corrosion or performance degradation on either unit. The four suction cups hold firmly on both smooth and slightly textured reservoir bottoms. I've mounted one pump vertically on the side wall and the other horizontally on the base, and both configurations work perfectly. The outlet can rotate to multiple positions, which solved a plumbing challenge where I needed the discharge pointed at an angle. Noise level is genuinely quiet. Standing next to the reservoir, I hear a subtle hum that's barely noticeable, and from 6 feet away it's completely silent. This matters for indoor growing where pump vibration can be annoying. The 5 foot power cord reaches my outlet without needing an extension, though the cord could be longer for some setups. Getting two pumps in one package provides built in redundancy. When I need to service one pump, the second handles circulation temporarily. I've also used them on separate tower systems running different crops. At this price per pump compared to buying single units, the value is excellent. One consideration is that these are designed for clean to moderately dirty water. Heavy particulate loads or thick algae will clog the impeller faster and require more frequent cleaning. For standard hydroponic applications with filtered nutrient solutions, they handle the workload easily. The max lift height of 3.3 feet is accurate, so measure your vertical distance before purchasing if you're pumping higher than that. Compared to more expensive brands charging double for similar specs, these VIVOSUN pumps deliver the same performance. After six months of hard use, both are still running strong with consistent flow rates and zero failures.

I have a Backyard waterfall fountain. Instead of a birdbath, the fountain is a source of running water for all the outside critters. Past experience shows a pump will last only one year (two years at best). It was great to find TWO pumps for approximately the cost of one .... and the real kicker in the deal, this pump works better than any other brand I ever bought. The waterfall flows great because of a great pump!

I’ve had this about 7 months it shoots water up a hose about 6ft up to a filter. It’s started to slow down and the front cover doesn’t snap off as it should to clean it. Still very good for the price, I guess that’s expected

I’m really happy with this VIVOSUN submersible pump. It was easy to set up and started working right away. The water flow is strong for its size and it runs pretty quietly. I’ve been using it daily and it has been reliable so far. Overall, it’s a great value for the price and does exactly what I needed. I would definitely recommend it.

This replacement does not have the proprietary wiring to connect it to the cooler switch, but I just ran the wiring through a slot I made at the top of the water reservoir. So, that little cooler has two wall outlet connections now, one for the fan and another for a pump. Cheap jury rig but works. All specs on the pump same as original and this one opens up to clean out any clogs, so I am happy.

Works good could use longer cord

Nice little pump I got for my humidifier it won’t pump water so I put this in at the bottom of the bucket and now it pumps water to the top humidifier unit ,quiet has been running non stop for 3 to 4 months now when water runs out I fill up again 5 gallons at a time ,when empty the pump keeps running non stop no auto off and it’s quiet bearly hear it run empty can not here it run in water ,pumps from bottom of a 5 gallon bucket to top no problem ,every thing I get from vivosun is nice quality stuff good name brand.

Lasted maybe 1 hour of running time before dying Turned on and off exactly 6 time then never again Also managed to un-mix my saltwater and release evil brown sewage

So far it’s working perfectly. Exactly what I was looking for.

Using for DWC hydroponics growing cucumbers. It's my first setup, so still learning. I like that it hase a tube for additional air. However using it makes much more noise. Using this one and the COVVY Ultra Quiet 200 GPH submersible Water Pump for one 100L tank. Also using API POND ECOFIX SLUDGE DESTROYER for beneficial bacteria. Still some issues with algae developping, however this may be due to the fact that the pumps were working only during the day before (moved it to a different area now). The cucumbers are still producing nicely, so overall happy.

So far so good! A great little pump for our small fountain needs…
