Sweat Absorbing Face Lotion for Oily Skin, Mattifying - 1.35 oz

I was super skeptical at first, but wow—Carpe really works! I have oily skin and deal with face and forehead sweat, especially in warm weather or when I’m nervous, and this stuff has been a total game changer. It goes on like a lightweight gel-lotion and dries quickly without feeling heavy or sticky. I use it in the morning before makeup, and it keeps my face way more matte throughout the day. The silica microspheres really help absorb the sweat, and the jojoba esters keep my skin from feeling dried out. I’ve even used it on my scalp near my hairline, and it works great there too. Definitely worth it if you’re tired of constantly blotting or feeling shiny all the time!

So I live in Californians Central Valley where it can get very very hot and stuffy in the summer months. I’ve never been someone who sweats in my face or scalp, but a couple years ago I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid) and let me tell you this disease has changed my body! I’m always running warm and sweating from areas I never have before! That’s why I’ve been trying and finding new things I can use. I usually do ok with face primers if I’m AC environment, but sometimes at work I have days where I move a lot and organize things or move things around the office. Also I wanted something that would work for if I go out dancing or something. I kept seeing ads for this on instagram and decided to try it. It did not work for me. Not only that, I started sweating from my upper lip as soon as I put it on no matter how cool my place is. It’s very strange how it works the opposite for me. I don’t know if It’s because my skin is trying to shed it out of my pores immediately or what, but it’s so annoying. I usually apply primer and then start my makeup routine just fine. With this thing I apply it and a few seconds later, my face is sweating! If you’re like me with new sweating tendencies and oily skin/large pores, I wouldn’t recommend based on how it worked for me.

So I tried this product and it immediately made my skin itchy when I put it on, and it seemed to only make my face sweat a lot more after application than without it. So it’s not a great fit for my skin personally. However, I did leave a comment on Instagram explaining the situation and the company got back to me via Dm then email very quickly and all I had to do was email back my proof of purchase and they quickly refunded my purchase since it didn’t work for my skin. So for me, I have 4 stars because having a great customer service that’s so willing to work with people says a lot about a company in general! Thank you!

I'm an esthetician and after waxing clients throughout the day I tend to sweat a ton from my hairline, upper lip, and chin. A few years ago I nearly got fired for how much I sweat. Now I have my own business and I don't want my sweating to cause any issue for my client so I was willing to try whatever I could afford. The first day I noticed less sweating from my face and thought this is great. The next day I noticed more sweat then the day before but wasn't sure if it could've been user error or something else so I wasn't ready to come to a conclusion. Since then whenever I apply to my skin no matter how little or how much extra I use I have this white build up and my skin is overly dry. However after about 40 minutes I'll be sweating and the sweat absorbing product doesn't seem to help at all. I'm not sure if I'm a special case for example if there's a hormone thing or something else going on but this did not work for me. I did like that it was priced well enough that I could try it and not feel like I was losing out.

I tried this product for the first time today and I am hooked. It is 90 degrees and humid in Chicago today and I had to open an entire huge restaurant patio by myself in a full face of makeup. I can’t believe how well this product worked. My face stayed completely dry while my scalp and everything around my face was dripping with sweat. Without this product, all of my makeup would’ve been sweated right off (it’s happened too many times to count). My makeup is still perfect 5 hours later. I jumped on their website to order their scalp serum because that’s my other problem sweat area (so many ruined hair-dos!). I applied Carpe after my regular skincare routine, before my makeup primer. It was very easy to apply and is completely sheer and lightweight. I have extremely sensitive skin and so far haven’t had any problems with burning or redness. My only issue with this product is that the tube is way too small. The price is fine, but I wish they had a larger size option. I feel like I’m going to go through this tube very quickly since I plan on using it every time I wear makeup (5-6 days a week). Other than the small size, I’m a huge fan of Carpe now and can’t wait to try their other products!

Update: So... I've been using this product for almost a month now, started using it in late June, it is now late July.... At first this product was working for the first week or so, but I can no longer recommend this product. It's no longer effective for me. I'm going to give them two stars for the effort, because I sincerely appreciate the effort. Initial review: First and foremost, I just want to state that I struggle with sweating on my face more than anyone I personally know. I can be standing still on a warm day and my face will generate a puddle from just standing there. I do need to note that I am a person of African descent, that's important to note, because often when people of color are reviewing reviews, they are wondering if there's someone from their ethnicity that is also using the product. There is a difference in skin texture. With that said, after testing this product in the June/July summer heat for a week, I can honestly say this product works. It's not perfect, but if you apply it the correct way, which is apply it to a clean dry surface it does work. I've tested it out in 80 + percent humidity, and it still works. What I've noticed is, the cream is actively trying to prevent the sweat from generating. It won't always prevent it, but it definitely slows it down and wicks up the moisture. This is not a oily base product, my skin feels fine applying it, I definitely recommend it. It doesn't hurt to try. Have to ask yourself, what's the alternative... Note, I use this on my bald head as well.

I experience excessive sweating as a side effect from my anti-anxiety medication. My doctor told me that aside from dropping the medication and potentially losing the progress that I’ve made, the only option to treat the sweating was to find an antiperspirant for my scalp and face. I typically didn’t really sweat much before the medication, mostly attributed to my lack of physical activity (I do desk work 10 hours a day). My sweat came on strong and I felt like Brendan Fraser in Bedazzled, wiping away from my face and under eyes every few minutes. (Not sure what I mean? Then go look it up the clip. It’s hysterical in this context.) This face lotion was rubbed around the edge of my forehead and under eyes and after a single use I can confidently say it works. I’m not sure how or why a lotion can absorb sweat, but it did. Don’t get me wrong, I still sweat, but it was dripping down my face. I plan on buying the scalp treatment too, and maybe even the groin sweat treatment. It’s an exciting find and I hope it works for you too! (Note: I have sensitive skin and this didn’t have any affect on my skin. An added bonus!)

I am a super oily person, and I sweat with like no effort put in. While this doesn’t stop the sweat or oil completely, it SIGNIFICANTLY helps reduce it! I had constant trouble with my mascara smudging onto my eye lids and my lower lids and I couldn’t figure out why - turns out I had oily skin. After using this on my face I don’t deal with that at all anymore! I also do bridal hair and makeup and use this on my clients getting married outdoors in Hawaii. I’ve only ever had great reviews. It’s unscented, non-drying, and it’s effective. I don’t know why this doesn’t have more 5 star reviews, I love this product and will continue to buy it.

es hilft null, im gegenteil heute das erste mal probiert.. direkt nach dem duschen auf die trockene gereinigte haut aufgetragen und ich fing an zu schwitzen wie verrückt. ich kanns niemandem empfehlen 40 euro dafür auszugeben. und bleibe bei obadan das hilft wenigstens

This REALLY works. Used it a few times and it has performed every time even in really hot weather.

Good product as described

I got this today hoping it will assist a bit with sweating in my face. Apart from smelling a bit like wood glue, I applied it to my face as per the description and went out to buy a few things at the shop. Back in the car I was just as sweaty in my face. It is warm today so it is a good test but this is a waste of $40.

Doesn't work at all , lost of money.
