These garment bags for storage are made from PEVA not PVC, they are acid free and translucent.

Do these bags have a plastic smell to them?

There is no smell on these plastic garment bags.

Are hangers included? Will I need a specific size if I buy seperate?

Hangers are not included with these garment bags. In my opinion, you will not need to buy a specific size. I just used standard sized coat hangers. However, on my good coats I used wooden hangers that supported the shoulders of my coats properly. Hope this helps you.

Would these be good for storing a thick faux fur coat?

Well I bought it to storage my Faux Fur Coats. Some of them look pretty natural. Bags fit good.
