This umbrella is functional and fits in your pocket. It’s a good plan for those sudden showers while traveling. It’s a bit clunky to open as one might expect but it does the job for emergencies. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t weight down your luggage.

The most important thing to me when choosing an umbrella was size. For my travels, I want an umbrella that takes minimal space in my carry-on luggage and one I can carry in my jacket pocket. This umbrella fits that bill while also exhibiting decent quality. I find it easy to open and easy to close. The latching mechanism that holds it open is different from other umbrellas I've had, and at first it doesn't seem that reliable, but so far it's worked fine. I like the blue color I got, also. For a compact umbrella mainly to take when travelling, I'm quite happy with this one and I'm surprised to find one at its low price.

I gave this umbrella 4 stars for the price and what I wanted it for. I had previously bought a quality folding umbrella that cost 5 or 6 times as much, and it is certainly the one I would use if I were going out in a downpour. But at 11 inches when folded, it does not fit into my purse. I plan to use this umbrella to carry in my purse when there is only a chance of rain. Yes, this SY Compact umbrella is more difficult to open and close, and its handle is somewhat wobbly when extended. I suspect it would not be good in high winds and has to be treated gently. But I was surprised by how big the canopy is when opened, and it fits easily and neatly into its carrying pouch. If you can only get one "travel" umbrella, spend more and get a better one. But for me it is what I expected for the price and much more convenient for keeping handy for the days you may or may not get a sprinkle.

I bought it for a concert I was attending because I had to get up super early to get my GA ticket as close to the main stage as possible, and it was the middle of the summer in Texas with long lines outside. It arrived at 6am and check in wasn’t until 10am so it got pretty hot pretty quickly, but this umbrella kept me pretty cool the entire time, and the other people around me in line said they wished they brought one! Like it says, it’s compact, so it stores much better than a regular umbrella, which at least for the concert I attended, fell within venue requirements.

I bought these small umbrellas for my young grandkids to use on their walk home from school to have if it rains. I couldn’t even get them to open! If I can’t get them open there is no way they could! Very disappointed!

The umbrella is indeed compact and the function is great. Don't know if it will stay strong in a heavy wind but it's a great travel umbrella for the price

I just took delivery of this umbrella (today 17Jan25) and found that the actual length is not as advertised. Your description states the umbrella length is 7.64 inches. The one I received is 10 inches (over a full 2 inches longer) so it is not as compact as I expected. I will keep it but, am very disappointed with the false advertising, as I particularly wanted a smaller umbrella.

The umbrella is very good size, ideal for carrying in backpack pocket. a little bit flimsier than I expected, I hope it goes well in wind, as I am not sure how flexible it is. Ok so far.

Absolute waste of money. I bought this based on all the positive reviews. Wish I’d just read the one star reviews as they’re more accurate. This umbrella is so difficult to open that you’d be drenched by the time you finally got it open.

It is compact but it also is a little bit flimsy. it’s a bit hard to lock open into place and the actual knob at the bottom moves around and it won’t click into place when you want to look it up I wouldn’t recommend this product
