I bought a copy of this book, The Empty Chair, because I had heard Rebbe Nachman of Breslov quoted so often in speeches and within other books. This book is a GEM and good for any faith. The Empty Chair is a beautiful, instantly helpful book about how to lead one's life. Its words of wisdom are a comfort during difficult as well as good times, and it validates core values we may need to remember all the time. What's really nice is that each message is only one page long...and you hang on to every word; so even if you read just one page, you get a beautiful message that sticks with you. It is hard to believe that Rebbe Nachman died in his 30s. What a tragic loss of such a kind and brilliant mind.My copy is worn with many bookmarks on most pages! I have three books by Rebbe Nachman...and I love them all. I have bought several copies of The Empty Chair for friends. It's so small you can carry it with you daily or leave it by your bedside. Again, it is an appropriate book for people of any faith and an excellent purchase for yourself.

This was somewhat different than what I expected and I couldn't be happier. A book of quotes (perhaps even slightly modified by followers throughout the years) that are sure to inspire anyone.

Rabbi Nachman's writings are, always, spirituality uplifting without being overly intellectualized. I recommend them to all who a seeking helpful, spiritual insights. His writing has an appeal to all persons of all faiths.

Very good book, I just can't seem to make myself sit down and read part each day. I read it all at once, but then forget most of it.

Eigentlich ein gutes Buch, mit vielen nachdenkenswerten Aussprüchen, in einem sehr handlich kleinen Format, sehr geeignet auch für unterwegs.Aber leider ist das Buch ein Fehldruck, einige Kapitel sind doppelt - nicht nur am Inhalt, sondern auch an den Seitenzahlen zu merken - und entsprechend fehlen andere. Sehr Enttäuschend.

In the middle of an otherwise blank page, you'll find a short frivolous quote, supposedly attributed to Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.The contents of this 112 page book could probably be summed up in a 20 page pamphlet.I compare it to the kind of trivial, uncontroversial sensual inspirational fluff that people post on Facebook.The Wikipedia article about Nachman of Breslov will tell you more about him than this book. I'm so upset I bought this, I want to throw it in the garbage can.
