These operate really smoothly. The stock hinges always felt too tight and almost like they fought you in opening the lid.These install easily enough and even though my stock hinges managed to break as much plastic as they could (limiting how many screws can go back in) when they decided to checkout, these operate smoothly enough that I can still open and close the lid.Just an FYI: never buy an Acer Nitro 5 unless you want to deal with this ridiculous kind of build quality issue. Just like with the stock fans I had to replace because all they ever did was grind and make hella noise.

This was a pain to get right. Several stores couldn't understand what I was even wanting. First try here though.

Brand: AcerModel/Series Number replaced: Nitro AN515-51Installation: I found this to be easy and would suggest to novices to take a picture of wire placement so you do not pinch any when reinstalling. All wires have a notch/place that they fit into pay particular attention to this. There is a plethora of YouTube videos on specific Nitro 5 models and how to take them apart as this is a consistent issue with this Brand of laptop.While these hinges are exactly the part I was looking for I’ve found them not able to sustain the weight of the screen and often find that the screen will fall forward or backwards extremely easily when using from my lap.This kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop being a laptop. Though I am still grateful the part is so easily available to find especially on Amazon.#RightToRepairSuggestion to the manufacturer of this part:For future renditions of this type of part make the hinges more stiff to better hold its positioning at angles greater than and less than 90°These are a good replacement if you plan to keep your laptop stationary at a 90° angle such as on a desk or table.

Easy installation. Good quality hinges and I hope they can hold up for another 5 years

The media could not be loaded. Near close fit, bottom right screw needed to be screwed first before the other three screws to the screen for hole alignment.Right hinge makes a clicking sound when at around 10 degrees. On inspection, didn’t look like any parts were broken from this part or plastic frame tearing away.The hinges can’t hold position for anything less than 40 degrees.To conclude, it holds the screen up and doesn’t seem to be breaking the case like how my original broken left hinge was doing by separating the plastic frame. Hopefully, the right hinge clicking goes away with time and this hinge lasts long. Will update if changes.

Easy to use and install. Was nice to be able to find a replacement that worked and was affordable. The item arrived fast and had it installed in no time with no hassle. Would recommend and would buy again. 5 STARS

The installation was easier than I thought it would be, and the pieces even look better than the laptop's original ones.
