This shampoo has a minty smell that helps cover up the coal tar smell, but its not overpowering mint like some shampoos that leave you smelling like a girl scout cookie or something. It really cooled my head down and relieved itch from dandruff but another plus is unlike other coal tar products, this shampoo did NOT strip my hair of all its nutrients. My hair felt clean and my scalp refreshed without my hair feeling squeeky or like staw like other coal tar things do. Then there is the conditioner. Another product I wasn't expecting much from(from experience with other similiar products) but it was great as well. Not only does it have a fresh peppermint scent that works well with the shampoo, but it was thick. Usually similiar shampoos are pretty runny and don't last long. This stuff was rich and creamy so I didn't have to use more than like a quarter size for my hair, if that. I am going to see how long this stuff lasts. I don't shampoo with it everyday, may 2-3 times a week I use head and shoulders and a few of the other days of the week since the ingredients attack dandruff from a different angle. If you are suffering from dandruff or an itchy scalp I totally recommend this. I'm starting to learn that with many things, you pay for what you get. Its a little more on the pricey end which my reason for hesitating for so long but I believe now that it is worthy the price and if you follow their directions of only using it a few times a week I wouldn't be surprised if this bottle last 2-3 months which eases the sting of a higher price, but like I said, you pay for what you get.
