Nothing even close to it in the price range.
I have owned quite a few Behringer products now, and I have found, without exception, the price/quality to be exceptional. I had a previous version of this (pmx2000) for over 10 years, and it finally gave up the ghost after years of flawless service. I wanted to take this as an opportunity to upgrade, but after checking everything I could find available, there is NOTHING that comes close to this PA head at or near its price point, I'd have to spend several hundred dollars more, or go with a non powered mixed with a separate amp, which is inconvenient and more expensive. This unit has been virtually unchanged since at least 2002 , just a little more power than before, which shows a well designed product doesn't have to have bells and whistles added every year just to make it "new". Using good speakers, the power should be more than adequate for small to medium sized rooms. The preamps sound good and there is little idling noise. Read the specs or download the manual for a complete list of features. For a stand alone PA amp what it does have is all useful and solid, I've used every feature on it at some time another. With all that said there are some features it does NOT have I wouldn't mind it having, such as: -channel and overall mute, though the 25db pad on channels 1-6 can act as partial mutes, -separate effect choices and/or effects combinations for the channels. Although there's dozens of good effects on this, only one can be chosen at a time, and it's global, you can't, say, have reverb on the mics and chorous on guitars, or combine reverb and chorous, - XLR outputs for powered speakers / monitors -compression -It does have stereo capability on ch. 7-10, but no pan controls - It also uses Speakon connectors- not a big deal, you can buy adaptors cheaply, but I prefer regular old 1/4" plugs, out in the field you are SOL if you don't have the right connectors with you. Seems easy enough to add Speakon / 1/4" combos which I've seen on other amps. But this is minor stuff. If you really need any of the above just spend well over $500, but for $350 this is a STEAL!

Some rough patches, but solid features.
My 12 year old Yamaha powered amp (EMX 660) and mixer has been serving me well for 12 years, though in limited usage (I am a DJ and sound guy for a professional theater group that does 2 - 10 gigs a year). The problem has been that I use an increasing number of microphones and other wireless devices (body packs) for driving remote speakers. I was looking at a high quality mixer with 8 microphone inputs, but it was nearly $300. Since I am still using CD players and I stack them on top of the amp, a mixer was not going to fit the limited space we often work in. Bottom line is I now have a new amp and mixer with almost the exact same case dimensions as my Yahmaha (very solid) 4 more inputs and a powerful amp just in case my powered speakers ever die. I tested it with all inputs in use at the same time for about 8 hours and though I will update this review if the thing dies on me, it seems quite solid and a perfect front line mixer (my still working Yamaha moves to a back up role). Now if I could only just turn the power amp off.... Updated review. Finally did a heavy duty live application, a 4 hour rehearsal with 4 wireless mikes, one wired mike and two sound sources. I was also driving a remote wireless speaker through the monitor channel. Channel 7/8 acted up on me and is now marked as unreliable. Channels 8/9 and 9/10 seem to produce different levels of sound with the exact same settings. The amp seems to work well otherwise, so far. But I am downgrading my review 2 stars. Total hours of service so far, less than 20. I have a 10 hour gig on Saturday, so I will update IF something else goes wrong. Bottom line. This ain't no Yamaha. Updates review. Live test, an 8 hour rehearsal and live show with 5 mikes and 15 performers on two decks of a cruise ship. No problems. Especially useful are the tiny signal lights that blink when a mike is being used. This allows you to adjust gain on the mike being used remotely without having to guess. Upgrading review 1 star.

I thought it was great till one of the channels went out
I thought it was great till one of the channels went out, don't know how to fix it either, I'll have to tear it apart and see what lies inside. Apart from the one channel going out-the screws come out too easily on it and I'm constantly having to tighten them down, and I hardly use the dang thing! Behringer is definitely sub-par as far as quality goes...

Behringer PA update
Although I am buying a slightly-used PMP 2000 now, in Dec. 2018...I purchased my first PMP2000, new, in late 2015 and used it for over 3 years, consistently, for band practice and singing gigs. I will say that the first PMP 2000 mixer that I purchased had some loose knobs, right out of the box, but other than that, it did a quality job for me. I did have a main/mon (right) speaker channel fritz out on me recently, as well as some mic channel volume knobs start to crackle...which is why I bought a used mixer today. For the money you cannot beat this mixer with its superior sound output and 99 preset digital sound effects. I purchased a competitor's "comparable" mixer recently and the digital sound effects sounded like total tin-can junk compared to this mixer's Klark Teknik onboard presets. I sent the other mixer right back. The overall high-quality effects, total wattage and bridge-mode capability are all selling points for this mixer. Most of the other mixers that I have looked at online do not even have bridge-mode capability. If you need a reliable powered mixer for small-to-medium-sized gig venues, I would definitely recommend this Behringer PMP2000 mixer!! Update 3/10/2020: both Behringer PMP2000 mixers died together, recently, one-after-the-other while setting up at a gig. I have since purchased a cheap, used PMP500M mixer from Amazon. It is working well, so far. I'm no longer a PMP2000 fan. I have had almost $700 invested in 2 mixers that only lasted short of 5 years...

I like all the built in features
I guess I may be old school, but my Kustom PA-60 300w analog power amp blows this and other new power amps out of the water. This seems odd to me considering this is marketed as a 800w power amp. I like all the built in features, but I need power not features. I am no tech. but this seems to be a flaw with new digital amps. I returned this unit and tried a new Peavey i8500 400wI and same thing.I turn my analog Kustom to to 4 and the depth of sound and projection is great. I turned this amp all the way up and still did not have the sound or power I get from my analog Kustom. I am using my Kustom that does not have all the bells and whistles for now. For what is available on the market this is probably a great buy, but I am disappointed with the new digital power amps thus far. I was hoping to give a better review.

Great PA head
The perfect PA amp for my small band. We don't get terribly loud, and don't run any instruments through the PA. It's only used for mikes, but its sound is fantastic, the adjustable effects work great, and it has a separate channel so you can adjust the on stage monitors as well. A complete unit, solid, reliable and not too heavy. Sounds great, works great. As nearly perfect as I can imagine. It does take a little time to get the hang of adjusting the effects, as they have numbers. Just takes some experimenting and then remembering the setting. I use number 33 for practices, a blend of echo and reverb. For playing out, it depends on the place.

Suits our needs perfectly
My church's sound system needed a lot of upgrading, and they are notorious for going as cheap as possible. Taking into consideration my past experience with Behringer products, I strongly looked at this system, knowing that it would be exactly what we needed, while also being easy enough to train new people on in order to run our sound. As it turned out, we had an anonymous donor give us the money for a new sound system, and I still insisted on this one. We went ahead and ordered it, and it shipped out very quickly. We had it within a handful of days. The setup on it was very easy. We were also able to go with a quadraphonic configuration so that complaints of not being able to hear are now a thing of the past. While 800 watts may seem on the low end, especially with much more powerful systems out there, I can tell you this system is more powerful than the watts would lead you to believe, and there's still a lot of room to work with if we needed more. There are really only a couple drawbacks I have with this system, which prevented me from giving it a full five stars. The first is the loud pop that you hear when the digital effects kick on. That's really more of an annoyance than anything having to do with how the system performs, but still I think there has to be a way that pop can be eliminated. The second is why this board doesn't have the feedback detection that come on other Behringer boards, even on their more portable systems. Not that we are pushing anything too hard for feedback to be a problem, but someone else might. It's more a curiosity to me rather than a specific complaint. Still it seems like that has become a standard Behringer feature, so why isn't it on here? Those however do not diminish my firm belief and experience that this is in fact a quality system, and you'd be wise to give it consideration for your sound needs.

Certainly a great boost in power
This is an upgrade from a 300 watt Behringer power mixer I own. I play a solo acoustic show, and I needed more ummphh so to speak, and this mixer is just what I needed. This mixer has a monitor out, which is one of the features I was looking for. Certainly a great boost in power, I use all Behringer products from speakers, mixer and monitor, and very pleased with their products. You can't beat the price. The only thing I could critique, would be it has "speakon" speaker connections, which I was not aware of when I purchased it. Great value, certainly recommend.

Fantastic sound and adaptability
Cannot praise this enough. We bought it for a charity folk festival we organised in the UK. Now we use it for running "karaoke Komedy", for musician's and for our comedy/music act Flotsam & Jetsam here in Malta. Handles whatever you put through it. Very easy to use, great sound effects and great power output. We twinned it with 2 EV speakers which handle around 250watts each and it sounds AMAZING. HiGHLY RECOMMENDED for bands, performers and anyone not wanting a full mixing desk set up and no need for a sound engineer.

ARE MADE FOR PEOPLE NOT FOR MILLIONAIRES. Kann nur sagen: DANKE !!!!

Great quality & excellent sound for half the price of competing Yorkville products
This is a great product for an excellent price. The stunning clarity and sheer volume of this mixer makes it a joy to use live. I bought this to replace a similar $900 Yorkville product, and I have to say that for half the price this is the superior product. An abundance of channels, a cornucopia of built in digital effects, and a great sounding live show is what you will receive upon purchasing this product. I ordered out of distress and desire to replace my broken Yorkville, and this thing showed up on my doorstep the following morning ready to improve my bands sound.
