Strop material?
I got this actually for a strop. I want to learn straight razor shaving, and I read to use this stuff. At first, I thought that it was too dry to use on the rubber, but after reading up on it, I found that you are supposed to condition the leather first, which is what I didnt do. Also, I bought some other stuff that they said was good for stops, and this seems on par with that stuff. I have used this to buff out some kitchen knives though, in combination with a buffing pad on a rotary tool, and it did an excellent job on them. Also, this stuff is made in the USA, and not in china like some other brands, which is a major plus to me. One thing I would like to say. The picture shows a block that looks white. this is not white. It is green. Much much greener and darker then the picture shows. Overall, there is nothing to complain about. It works good, does a good job, and is made in the USA. It may be a little more expensive then the cheap stuff, but i am more then willing to pay a little more to keep work here. What could i find to complain about. Yes, I do recommend it.

Read it to know how to use it!
The seller is ought to provide at least basic guidance on how to use this product, but the packaging says nothing. Other than “Made in US”. So, you cannot apply it on anything when it is dry. It is not soluble in water either. You must use oil. I used a simple gun oil - like Lucas Heavy Duty and it does soften this compound so that it can be applies to buff wheel. It works pretty good and it is a good value considering the size of this “brick”. I used it to clean 20-years old stainless steel kitchen sink and it made a huge difference in appearance. It does not make miracles though, it takes a lot of elbow grease and time to make old metal shinny, but with right tools - it works. It also requires high speed application.

Works great with Powerstrop
I used this in conjunction with the Flexcut PWS10 Standard Powerstrop for final sharpening of knives, it worked great. Polished up the edge fast and the result was similar to a new utility knife blade. It may be able to achieve razor sharpness but that wasn't my goal so I didn't put any effort into trying it. It was a bit chalky, but that didn't seem to affect function at all.

Excellent product for kitchen knife strops
This was everything I thought it would be. I made a homemade strop, and purchased a new strop online. Both stops loaded about the same. One took longer than the other but they were different leathers. I used the to finish up the edges on two kitchen knives, and wow! What a nice result on both. My only problem is the seller could have packaged it better. Mine came broken in half, and was beat up with a lot of little pieces broken off. I'd recommend this product for sure.
