Worked wonders! Gorgeous color.

this is PERMANENT DYE not SEMI-PERMANENT and it works immaculately!! the issue people are having with it not working is because with permanent dye you need to mix in developer for it to work ! if you don't mix in developer then the creme won't turn blue and it won't dye your hair. anyways it lasts really long and fades beautifully I still get complimented on my hair and its been months :°)

I don't write reviews for hair dye because it does what it's supposed to do.... dye your hair, except Ion. I bought the sapphire color, bought 2. My hair is already a greenish/blue, but it is currently faded so a dark color like the sapphire should take Upon opening the product, it smells horrid. It smells like bleach, the whole bathroom smelled. It actually smelled worse that when I actually bleach my hair. Oddly the dye is a cream color so I'm not sure how it works or how it was supposed to dye my hair that blue tone. I left it on for over 40 minutes with no change AT ALL. I've never had a hair dye do that or lack of doing something. I can not emphasize enough how much I DO NOT recommend this product. Update: it actually discolored my hair now that it is washed out and some of my hair is still a faded blue and other parts are yellow. I'm so livid.

I've been using this color since it was only available in semi permanent. Although it has gotten a touch darker over the years I am loving the permanent brights. It is so nice not to have the color bleeding out every time I wash my hair and it's still wet. 🙃 Definitely USE sulfate free shampoo and conditioner with cold water washing like before. It will last longer and keep that first day shine till you need to touch up.

The coverage isn’t very good but it’s a pretty color

This item is great and I am so used to box kits I did not realize it needed developer. (hey I am still new to pro products) I love the color (sapphire) and it holds up. SO if you are new to this get the developer it's not a suggestion, it's a necessity!

I love Ion products! Use Ion’s after color conditioner to really lock in the color.

My usual method to get my dark brown hair lifted to a point that blue dye stays blue is 45 minutes with Quick Blue & 40 volume developer. Unfortunately, I saw a significant difference between the bleached once section of hair and the bleached twice section. The bleached once section turned a lovely sapphire that has since faded to denim. The bleached twice portion barely took the dye and made a really intriguing silver-ombre effect. I might use this if cosplaying Violet from Fourth Wing, but sadly I'm not. I may have erred in that I rinsed my hair until it no longer stank like dry cleaning. Maybe if I had stopped rinsing earlier I could have kept more color. I did use the Ion post wash goop when I was done rinsing. It remains to be seen how long this will last, but I think I'm going back to my tried and true impermanent dyes. I had such high hopes!

No difference in the hair color. Difficult to actually find the instructions. When I finally did on the inside of package the print was so small I needed a magnifying glass to read and even then it was unclear. Terrible smell. Would not recommend this product to anyone.
