It helps me sleep, simple as that
I was both curious and skeptical about the utility of weighted blankets/comforters, but a recent Amazon sale convinced me to at least give it a try. I won't say it changed everything, but I'll admit it does make it easier for me to fall asleep. Took about a week or two to adjust to the way it felt... the 1st night, I actually think I struggled against the weight because I had a few sore muscles in the morning. But that didn't happen again. Since then, it's been more like a feeling of being swaddled or tucked in. I sleep hot, so yes, more often than not, by morning I've pushed aside the weighted blanket but that's not the point. The real point is it helped me fall asleep in the 1st place, and for a chronic insomniac like myself, that's kind of a big deal. I did replace the standard cover with the "cooler" one and it's better. I wouldn't term this blanket to be "cooling", but it does take quite some time to heat up. The one main hassle was after I washed the cover for the 1st go, it took a lot of effort to retie the inner bead-enclosed part inside the cover. It's quite clumsy. But once done, it seems to stay put pretty well. I'd say the main thing about a weighted blanket or comforter is don't get one that's too big. If it hangs very far over the edge or foot of your bed, normal nighttime movement will cause it to fall off. I'm using one that's "just big enough" and it usually stays put (until I push it away). Pros: - Weight does remain pretty evenly distributed, although if too much goes over the side or foot, it can pull away. Occasionally I've found the blanket seemed to be heavier on one side or the other. Not a deal-breaker, but it needed adjusting. - Doesn't get hot very fast, but it will warm after enough hours of being under it - After 2-3 nights, the weight becomes quite comforting; I actually look forward to it - It's even nice to use on a recliner or sofa, as I've tried a few times - Manufacturing quality seems good - No bad odors that I noticed, beyond the usual "new fabric" smells; a single laundering of the cover took care of that Cons: - Not very easy to put the blanket back inside the comforter cover once removed. - Be nice if there were more colors; my bedding is maroon but that's not an available option for this blanket Would I buy again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes, particularly if it on sale. Advice I'd give: Be sure to get the right weight and size for your bed situation.

Great, except the glass beads make me cool and later warm.
This product is fantastic. I’ve slept with it for 5 nights and here are my impressions: Duvet covers: Perfect. One is a luxuriously soft blanket-like fabric on both sides (with the raised circles on the top side only), and the other is made of the same soft, light fabric sheets are made of on both sides. Both duvets are blue on one side and light gray on the other, with a long zipper along one end and several ties inside to tie to the little loops along the edges of the weighted blanket itself. The ties stay tightened very well. Weight: I weigh about 115 pounds and bought the 12-pound blanket. It feels great. When I first got in bed I immediately felt comfortable under it. It’s amazing. The amount of pressure is soothing. Size: The 48x72” size is perfect for me.. It doesn’t move around or let drafts of air in, so it doesn’t need to be bigger. In fact, I wouldn’t want it any bigger. It would be cumbersome to have it hanging over the sides of the bed, due to the weight. It keeps me warm because it stays diwn around me, but it doesn’t feel too heavy. Occasionally it feels heavy on my toes right after I get into bed. That is easily fixed by creating some height around me toes within the blanket. Temperature: even with the warmer duvet cover on, the blanket feels cool when I get into bed unless I warm up the blanket with a heating pad and turn up the heat in the room for a while before bed. Otherwise it sucks the heat out of me and I feel cold. When that happened the first few nights, I added some blankets on top. But then I fell asleep and woke up hours later blazing hot. The glass beads retain the heat longer than regular blankets, so it took a while for the blanket to cool down after I took it off me. Major sleep interruption! The same thing happened with the lighter, summertime duvet cover. So I learned to warm up the blanket before bed. I still start with an extra blanket, but I can remove it shortly—before I fall asleep. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a quality weighted blanket with two nice duvet covers, you’re safe with this one. I’m curious if beads of different materials prevent the cooling-heating problem. I can’t say.

Wonderful for these stressful times...
As someone who struggles with anxiety and trouble sleeping, I have been on the hunt for a high-quality weighted blanket, and this one definitely delivers. The blanket has made a significant difference in the quality of my sleep. It has a calming effect and helps me feel more relaxed and grounded, which leads to better sleep and less anxiety. First, the blanket is incredibly well-made with high-quality materials. The fabric on the cover is soft and easy to care for. The inner blanket is made with evenly distributed glass beads, which provide the perfect amount of weight and pressure to promote relaxation and deeper sleep. Second, the cover is removable and washable, making it easy to keep the blanket clean and fresh. I understand that earlier version of this blanket also had a cool cover, so I took off a star for that. I only got the warm cover but would have loved having the cool one for summer months too. Overall, I am satisfied and will certainly consider buying more as gifts for friends and family.

5 Years, Still Excellent!
Almost 5 years! This blanket has held up wonderfully! No leaks, no holes, just a wonderful, heavy blanket. My feet and legs relax and my body calms. A great addition to a nighttime routine.

I Am Glad I Gave Weighted Blankets Another Shot!
Years ago, I had bought a weighted blanket, which felt like a heavy beanbag - weight distribution was terrible (the weighted material just fell and built up wherever the blanket fell. I have anxiety issues off and on and I tend to wake up at least a couple of times during the night every night. I saw this blanket reviewed on a Rachael Ray email, read the reviews and product description here on Amazon, and decided to give it another shot. I received it yesterday and tried it out last night. It was super heavy (25 lbs) and I didn't even bother putting on the cooling cover - I just wanted to see if it would prevent me from tossing and turning and waking up during the night. Wow!! It really did. I don't like to sleep on my back, but I tried it with this blanket and the applied pressure made me feel comfortable and "in place" or tucked in. I fell asleep quickly (around 11:30pm) and did not wake up again until 6:30am this morning. I felt refreshed and there was absolutely no body stiffness or soreness like there usually is. LOVE this blanket and cannot recommend it enough!! I am also grateful for the body height/weight to blanket size/weight chart provided by this company - it made choosing the right blanket a lot easier. Thank you! So grateful for this!

Not For Me
The blanket arrived promptly. It was in a plastic zippered bag. The zipper was broken as was the box in several spots. It was a large enough box but absent anything to hold the bag/ blanket in place, the box suffered damage and the bag zipper was broken. I expected better quality/care in packaging. The blanket came with one duvet cover with the blanket tied inside I like that as I didn't have to put the blanket in the cover. There was no second, "cool" duvet cover included though I believe that was part of the deal. The 80x87 blanket hung over the foot of my bed the first night and it kept sliding off the bed during the night. The second night I rotated the blanket so it would hang off the sides of the bed but it slid here and there anyway. The weighting moved within the cover as I might have expected. I slept on it for 3 nights and didn't sleep any better than normal. I still had insomnia and fitful sleep. It's not that the blanket was uncomfortable. The winter, fleece cover was soft and I was plenty warm. I don't think I did not sleep better because this is a bad blanket, but I'm not sure it's the best blanket. This being my first experience with weighted blankets, pros/cons, shoulds/should nots, etc., here's what I know. There are a ton of opinions out there on how large and how heavy a blanket, how many ties the cover should have, whether you should use a cover, whether you can/should wash the blanket, etc., etc. I'll continue to look at different blankets and consider various weights and fabrics. Originally after unpacking, I went to the mfg website to ask about the second cover and found no way to chat or email my question though I was able to leave a voicemail. As of today when I left the blanket at UPS I've not heard anything from them. The quality of their website and apparent lack of customer service options, especially after the sale, are especially telling. Caveat Emptor!

Worth every penny!
Snagged this on prime day but had been looking at for months! Worth every penny. I have anxiety and my husband is a restless leg sleeper. We got the size for the both of us and use it every night. Also huge value in the fact that it comes with two covers over the weighted blanket so you can switch. One is lighter (for summer months) the other is soft and warmer (for winter months). Also easy to clean the sheet that covers the weighted blanket inside! Great quality, highly recommend! My husband is a hot sleeper and he loves this! We tried other weighted blankets before and those are my extras for the couch now hahahaha, this one is the winner of all!

Worth it.
The blanket is very heavy and takes some getting used to. Once you are used to it though you don't notice it but instead notice anxiety and agitation wash away. It's like being hugged in a very snug and secure way. Without the added cover the blanket it is really cold. It does not hold heat very well at all. I hope this is nice in the summer. As of right now it requires the cover and perhaps another blanket or two. The glass beads just don't hold heat and the moment you move the heat leaves immediately. It is difficult at first to remove the cover for washing and then reinsert the blanket inside. I recommend counting the tie rings as one side has more then the other. Once you realize which side matches to the amount of rings it becomes just a matter of umph as it is a heavy product. I am severely mentally ill. This products helps me amazingly well. I highly recommend it. I believe its worth the money.
