This prompts a really strong flush reaction. While the flush is overall a good thing, it can be unnerving. Some advice: Do not take if you are dehydrated! Be sure to drink plenty of water before and with the capsule. If you feel at all dehydrated, such as after a bout of diarrhea or a big night of drinking, I really recommend making a point of drinking at least 10 glasses of water the DAY BEFORE taking the first capsule.If you are really new to niacin, you might want to start with 500 mg before taking the full 1000mg dose. The capsules are easily opened and you can dump half of the powder out until you know how the flush is going to affect you.

I have to say WOW!! I was thinking most people will cry about little burning sensation and tingling on their skin so I ordered this 1000mg instead of the 500mg. The day I got it I took 1 pill and in 1 to 2 minutes I started feeling tingling on my face and arms and after 4 minutes I was on fire. But is was a good feeling. I did have a bit of hard breathing but no other side effects. I felt the blood rushing through all over my body and about 30 minutes later it seems like my mind is more clear. I saw Dr. Mercola's video on Niacin and says it is the best way to detox your entire body from metals and chemical in your body. Next time I am going on my treadmill to sweat it out then into the hot tubfor best results. (doctor's recommendation)

I am an incessant reader, and love to research. After much ado, I chose Twinlabs. I know going in that the ingredients will be there and no drama. I like that I can take one capsule to get the dosage I am looking for vs other brands that require you to take two. I personally have no problem taking pills, however, my wife does, so any time I can reduce the amount she needs to take, I am on it. The price is reasonable for what you receive. It arrived well packaged and in a timely manner. The absorbancy is good. Its not how much you take, but how much you absorb.

Excellent product. Cannot ask for better absorption.**Do not use at this high of a dose unless you are used to using a flushing niacin at a lower dose first. Work your way up from 100 mg slowly toward 500 mg before going to 1000 mg. It Will make you hate it and think you are having an allergic reaction if the dose is too high. It reacts to the toxins in your system ... so you can tell when you eat something you should not. I take this 1-2 times a day now and have for years! It is my go to product.

If you want a niacin flush this is the stuff. Looked at some lower quantity niacin and thought I could handle 1000mg, nope. If you haven’t worked up to this much I recommend starting with a lower dose. This will have you red and itchy for hours otherwise.

So, got this for thinning hair, dry skin, brittle nails. Took one capsule as directed with breakfast and 20 minutes later thought I might die. Tingling? No man, this isnt tingling, this is my skin is on fire and feels like little needles are poking me everywhere. Thats not the worst of it though, found out (later) that what it does is dilate all your blood vessels. Cool right? Unless you have extremely low blood pressure, then it plummets and you hit the floor. Holy crap you really should warn people about that potential side effect. Friends ended up driving me to the ER where they pumped me full of fluids to get blood pressure back up. If you have extremely low blood pressure PASS ON THESE! I took one, and will be giving the rest away to someone else,,,with warning.

Niacin has been prescribed by my doctor to treat high cholesterol. I have a statin tolerance issue. 2000mg per day. Yes it causes a strong flush for the first week or so but that gradually goes away. The flushing kind is more effective. Lowers my cholesterol by about 20%. Used it for four years now.

Love the product! Works Well! Looking to purchase someplace else. When started buy it was 3 bottles for price, then dropped down to 2 for price, last order was 1 bottle for same $60 price. No longer an excellent or good buy. Have 2 of us taking 2 each per day - just too expensive to continue to purchase. Only the flushing type niacin works well and is hard to find. So if you can afford it, this is well worth the money...
