The Dutchess

This is a great soundtrack. While I often put it on for "background" music when working around the house, this CD is just as good when sitting at night listening to music and nothing else. Well written, and intriguing. I like Rachel Portman's work...

While I watched the movie, I was moved by the background music. I had somewhat contradictory feelings--sadness, yet with a feeling ofmoving towards resolution and acceptance. Somehow bittersweet as are many things in life. But the CD is a repetition of a theme. Probably only three of the tracks are what stuck out from the movie. But when I am pensive and want some mood music, this does the trick.

Relaxing Soundtrack from a good composer. A little repetitive, but soundtracks can be that way.

Wonderful cello cd!

I had first heard one of the songs on the Classical station on Pandora. Once I found out it was a soundtrack, I ordered it immediately! A couple of the songs do sound like a movie scene is occuring but the rest of it was very enjoyable! I also wanted to support a female music composer for a change. Thank you!

This book started out kind of slow. I had to put it down after a while and read something else. I was just like wtf is going on with this book. I took it to work with me and got bored enough to actually read it, but once I got past the boring first few chapters it actually started to get good. I ended up finishing it that day. People at work was looking at me crazy because I was actually talking to myself, because some of the parts was like jaw dropping. Yeah it is alot of characters in this book and at times you had to stop and be like who is this again. All I want to know is it a part 2????

Beautiful music that is rich in nuance and sound quality. It gives tremendous emotional depth to the movie and very enjoyable to listen to while driving or on a long flight. This is on my frequent play list on my iPod.

This book is a straight page turner...I promise you, you won't want to put it down. I just got around to writing a review, but I finished it in two days. The story is captivating and the characters are down right electric. I can't say enough about the intriguing storyline and the way the author makes each line count. I'm hooked, and ready for the next one!!!

Leider habe ich den Film nicht gesehen, aber ein Soundtrack von Rachel Portman ist es immer wert gehört zu werden. So auch dieser. Natürlich erinnern ihre Klänge an Chocolat, Bagger Vance oder Emma, aber so ist nun mal ihr Stil. Den haben andere auch(z.B. Hans Zimmer).Ruhige, melodische Stücke wechseln sich mit klassischen ab. Man gerät ins Träumen, kommt zur Entspannung. Eine CD, die man komplett vom 1. bis letzten Stück hören kann. Mögen einige Stücke auch melancholisch und traurig wirken, es folgen stets heitere.Den Kauf habe ich wirklich nicht bereut und kann ihn auch anderen empfehlen. Leider gibt es die DVD nicht deutschsprachig. Ich hoffe, dass sie doch noch eines Tages auf den Markt kommt
