Well made and comfortable.
These were purchased because of severe neuropathy in both feet. I’ve tried lots of different shoes and so far these are the most comfortable. I can’t say they will work for others because we are all different. They are well made and I can wear them all day. I’m going to purchase another pair just to have a second pair. I wear size 11 and these fit perfectly.

Great shoes! Look great! Needs to be broken in.
Just received the shoes today. They are great! Can't wait for them to be broken in. They look great. They hurt your feet at first but just need to be broken in. The bottom are rubber so they have good traction. Let's see if they hold up and last.

Tactical Chucks at last.
So I love Chuck Taylors. I wear red high tops every day. However, I work in an office and the shoes are good for sitting and periodic standing. Anything more and my feet need more support. I always wanted Converse to make tactical chucks, but the closest I was able to get were Converse combat boots. Apparently the guys at Altama had seen the pictures of Special Forces soldiers in Vietnam sporting Chucks, ranger panties, and an XM177 carbine. Or perhaps they realized that Chucks are still in use as approach shoes and lightweight sneakers when combat boots might raise suspicions. While Nike hinted at more hardcore Chucks at the end of last year, they do not hold a candle to these suckers. Most of the stuff you can see from the pictures, but here's some highlights I liked. 1. The outsoles are made of the same plastic that my climbing shoes are, and are grippy even when wet. 2. The design flaws seen on original chucks have been remedied. The banding around the outsole and upper have been sewn on to prevent premature separation. They have also cut the banding at the flex point to prevent the typical tearing (although it is supposedly actually to allow your foot to push water out of the shoe. So how do the shoes perform? Pretty good. They are light. They have more padding on the tongue and upper than chucks; something I'm not the biggest fan of, but helps. They do well in the water, and they do in fact work well with fins. I'm no high speed low drag UTD diver, but I do like the idea of a shoe that I can wear into the water, slap fins on, and then walk out of the water later. No need to stop and take off wet suit boots after a dive, you just walk ashore and keep going like a boss. The cut on the back of the high tops allow for full flex of the ankle with fins on. They worked well in my dive and I didn't have to change shoes at all that day. Good to finally see tactical Chuck Taylors. Would highly recommend.

6 month update
6 month update, still love them great on most surfaces, I have noticed on wet concrete the traction is still there and seems to get a little better. It's not a slip and slide mess. I added a few more pictures some of the stitching is coming up but I have not noticed an issue because of it. There is no glue separation from the toe rubber to the edge of the shoe. I think based on my neutral stance / interview stance the tread is wearing a little different on my drive brace leg side. I have ran in these, hiked in these in tough mountain terrain with lava rock, I've walked in rivers and along lakes on wet river rock no slip, they dry fast and I was a little hesitant that I would feel sharper rocks on the souls but I dont. I actually stepped on a roofing nail and dont know how long it was in the soul that day until I heard a clicking sound on the asphalt. I honestly do like them. I feel moble and agile in them. I like these boot shoes and they are holding up. So far 4 folks on my squad have switched to them as well. They are a true fit to size. First impression review. I just got off duty. I did alot of walking around today. Today I worked 13 hours but I had boots on for 15 of those house. I got home and my new Altama's were waiting at the door for me. I pulled them out of the box, looked at the stitching and then looked where the toe rubber connects to the cloth. It all seems real stout. Next I pulled the tissue from the shoes took my boots off. Which felt good in the first place. I tossed the new Altamas up in the air a few times, highly impressed with how light they are. I sat down on the couch and put them on. I was beside myself how COMFORTABLE they were after a 13 hour work day and a 15 hour day of wearing boots. I happily walked around and sent some of the guys on my squad a picture, stating they are finally here and I love them. They are truly comfortable. I'm impressed. Let's see if I can figure out how to do a review here in a few weeks and then again in a few months. If I like them I'm gonna talk my wife into letting me buy two more pairs. I want the multi cam for hiking around the woods at my cabin and if I can talk my SRT, team leader into the coyote I'll get one of those for wearing on the team. So far so good but mind you I've only been I possession of them for for 2 hours. Send me questions if you have them and I will update you. I ordered 9.5W because that's what I wear and they fit perfectly. Order to size.

Deployment tested
This are the real deal. I've done 26 mile rucks in them with 65lbs through the mountains, plate carrier runs for 5+ miles, river crossings straight into steep climbs. Solid shoe and comfortable. I did remove the insoles and added a power step arch support insole instead, but for water ops the rubber insole is a good move. These are my deployment shoe and will buy again.

Works great and comfortable
I use these as rock boots with my drysuit. The laces are easy and long enough. The shoes are comfortable and well built. I usually throw these in the washing machine and air dry after use. They have held up well to being machine washed. If you machine wash tennis shoes a lot of times they look like they have been shot out of a cannon. These look like new after several washings. I would buy these same boots again.

Half size up was perfect for me. Be prepared for lots of compliments and inquiries.
Regarding sizing... I selected Amazon's "Somewhat small" option, as I usually wear a 10.5, but ordered an 11. These are whole size only boots; most 11s are too big for me. However, this boot in 11 fits me perfectly. As others have mentioned, they are a little narrow. Luckily, I have fairly narrow feets, and the 11 fits great. These look really sharp, I've received a lot of compliments and "where did you get those?" questions. I bought the mid-height coyote option. These are my favorite shoes I've purchased in a long time. They are very comfortable. They look good at work, and not at work. The mid-height section is not super bulky. My pants bottoms, even on narrow / slim fit pants have stayed put over the tops with no issues. They've been very comfortable standing for longer periods. They're quite breathable in my experience, more so than most boots / shoes with a "tactical" style that I've worn for 10-12 hours at a time. Socks and feet are much drier coming out with these than with most others. Looking forward to Altama putting out some additional color options. This will definitely not be the only pair of these boots / shoes that I purchase. Will be looking at the low-height option next... the camo if additional colors aren't released soon, and olive drab if they are.

Good boots
They are a very good shoe excellent and they look cool The only problem is UPS They were supposed to deliver it to my address which I did say deliver it to the address given but they decided to drop it off for 20 miles away at a UPS destination pick a place which I think is disgusting but they are very worth the money as they are cheaper than getting in from a military shop
