All-Weather Double Keypad Mechanical Keyless Door Lock (Satin Chrome)

The product is solid. i tried all the different features of the pad. The thing works like a charm. I checked everything out. It's good product for what I need because it is waterproof or weather proof, required little or no maintenance and its double sided so nobody can cheat and try to get in. The thing is Heavy Duty. Mine came with two sizes and the screws, so one for a shorter one and one for a longer one. Either way, if you need to secure your outside fense door, don't use a double sided lock, buy this. Your lock can be compromised, and it will jam and you need a key. If someone makes a duplicate, you are compromised. This, you just change the code. If you have multi unit house, have the same code but tell them in a different sequence, so they will never know. YOu don't want tenants to think that all codes are the same. If you change it they will think it only affects their unit. I just need to install it into the metal gate. Just as a mock up, i did put it on a wood wall, it was perfect. just make sure you hit clear before you start again.

I installed this lock just about 9 years ago. This lock worked without a problem until one day it didn't. I took it apart and it was broken, and I could not repair it. I looked in my Amazon purchases and saw I had ordered it in 2015 and ordered another, identical to the 1st lock. This new lock had a sticking number 1 key, so I just oiled it and worked with the keypad and removed the (tightness) out of it and it now works perfectly. If this new lock works as well as the old one did, I will be elated. This lock is installed on an entrance gate that is used 30 times a day to enter and exit the yard by everyone. The price has inflated over the years, but what hasn't?

Ordered this product to help contain our autistic son. It was pretty easy for me to install since I am handy but would be difficult for anyone who is doing this for the first time. The instructions are confusing and use a small print. The only problem I have is that the handle is so small, and must turn a specific way or it doesn’t work. There should be an option for a bigger handle for people who will use it as a main entryway. Even on a pool gate or a security gate it would be hard to pull the small handle while turning. As you can see in the picture, I had to remove a deadbolt above the main handle and cover that hole (excuse the lived in look of the door). This was a minor nuisance but a cheap fix from Lowe’s or Amazon or any other place that sells hardware/home repair stuff. All in all, this is a good product with a few issues that would be great if they were addressed.

This is a great product. It’s a knockoff of the original design which costs 3x as much , but is just as functional. I have a wrought iron gate, and needed a latch that had a keypad on both sides so folks can’t just reach through and open the gate from the inside handle. This is basically the only solution that provides that, and it does it very well and without batteries EO you don’t get locked out. I’d recommend injecting some grease into the unit to make sure it doesn’t bind, other than that it’s very solid.

Unfortunately neither I nor my husband felt comfortable installing this lock so we waited months to find a carpenter to hire for such a small job. I just had it installed less than 3 months ago and recently it started not locking when I shut the door. It was unlocked when I got home although the door was shut. I thought maybe I’d forgotten to pull the door closed until it latched but that proved not to be the case. This past week it was more and more difficult to turn to open. The bolt got stuck partially open and the door didn’t lock when closed. I jiggled the knob and after about 10 tries the bolt would pop open so it locked when I shut the door. Today it took over 10 tries before I could turn the knob to unlock. The first thing I did when I was finally able to get in was to take a screwdriver and disassemble it. I found that one small piece of metal had sheered off inside the bolt assembly. Seems cheaply made and I’d like my money back. I bought this thinking it’s be great for when my grandson forgot his house key. No way will I ever buy another one. It’s not safe.

We had new metal security fences installed at our property. I previously had two code padlocks that were a pain to open. I knew there was a keyless, non-battery, mechanical code option but one of the main options is really expensive. I found this lock here on amazon and so far so good. I just installed two of these mechanical locks and I hope they work for a long time. Pros: the seller is amazing. Items arrived quickly with all the parts. The recommended “buy together” metal box is necessary for installation and fit perfectly. The installation video on this page was better than the instructions that came with the item. A BIG thank you to the sellers - at one point I thought I lost the parts for one of the locks and communicated with the sellers. They were going to send out new parts at no extra cost, but I didn’t need them because I found them! Excellent sellers!!! Only slightly difficult installation step was cutting the door lock spindle.

Hmm. I forgot to post this review but it’s now been installed for 2 months & one side of keypad stopped working. That means I have to reach through the gate bars to enter code from other side. I would not be able to get out if I had a sold gate door so hoping the 1 year warranty is honored. Original review: Good price point for a double keypad, knob isn’t very easy to turn - feels like fighting a strong spring. I can only hope that’s so it will last many years. Would have preferred a latch handle. Also the letters/buttons can be difficult to press in & I have serious doubts about using this outdoors in areas that have cold snowy/icy winters. As I first stated I like the price but obviously get what you pay for- very basic with combination can be inputted in any order other than C (clear) having to be first. That greatly reduces the security if someone’s trying to figure out the code, even with 5 keys after the C.
