Great for 15K air conditioner, freezer, etc. important safety & use information
Yesterday we got hit with our first big power outage, not unexpected since we are all of us in this part of the country suffering through record hot temperatures. So when the grid crashed I pulled the generator out and got to see how well it would perform. The generator arrived as expected no surprises there. About the only thing you need to do out of the box it put the two wheels on. Mine already came filled with oil but absolutely check before starting the first time. So all set up and with the choke on full (push to far right) it started on the second pull. I shut it down twice yesterday and restarted it. Both times it either started on the first or second pull without fail. Better still it is by far the easiest pull start engine I’ve ever used. I was worried it wasn’t a push start but thankfully not an issue. The on/off switches and the outlets are all on the one side. Just pull up the protective rubber covers to plug anything in. now that being said our biggest reason for getting this was for air conditioning, freezer and the refrigerator. Even though for example the air conditioner is rated at a much lower level voltage draw than this can put out what matters for any air conditioner, freezer or refrigerator is **peak electrical draw**. The air conditioner’s condenser comes on and for just a second or two at most the draw jumps by a third. For most of the other generators they could not handle that. So you have to get one that will handle the ‘peak’ draw even if it only uses that higher amount for a second. Otherwise that’s all it takes to trip the a safety and shut a generator down. But as said this one can handle the draw with no problems.Related those higher power appliances I cited require a non-standard extension cord. Do NOT ever try to use any cord not rated for such use. See photo for what I use, the minimum for our air conditioner’s needs. I assumed wrongly that the cords I already had would work fine, they did not. After about 20 minutes when I shut her down for the first time. I went and grabbed the cord and it was so hot I nearly dropped the thing. It was a miracle it didn’t start to melt and burn. Unfortunately the cords with the right gage are not cheap to buy as I found out. The 50’ cord I have cost $129.I wasn’t happy that mine shipped with no instructions whatsoever. But they did make sure to send me safety sheets in four different languages? Nonetheless it is very easy to set up and use. Before you put gas into the tank make sure to add Stabil so it doesn’t go bad on you after a few months. A few weeks back the gas I hadn’t used, I siphoned out and then put in fresh. With Stabil added I don’t have to worry about bad gas killing the generator if it sits for a year or so.It is kind of loud but it’s to be expected considering how much power this puts out. Yesterday we were able to run the 15K BTU air conditioner, our Wi-Fi mesh system, lights and a couple smaller things just fine. I didn’t want to overload it so I didn’t add more things but it was great having power when the whole area went dark.Last but not least it is easy to move. Attached to the front is a well designed pull bar. You lift it up and the generator becomes a ‘cart.’ There is minimal resistance pulling it around which is great because these things are heavy.I am so very relieved I purchased this generator when I did. It was a lifesaver for us yesterday. Without it the cost of the food lost would have been more than what this generator cost. Best of all being able to keep cool on a terribly hot day. Especially these days I would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone with a spot to put it outside.

Good Gennie
I have had several gen sets with B&S engines and they all have worked well. This one starts right up and runs smoothly. I have it mounted on a work truck inside some stake siding. The CO detector killed it first time at about two minutes. Put a cut out in the fence so exhaust runs straight out and that fixed it. This is the first gen I've bought that had a CO shut off. The feature is great for idiots that want to run a gen inside when the power goes out. The 120 and 240 outlets are well made. I'd buy it again.

This is a great generator.
It starts on the first pull almost every time which is a switch from other generators we've owned. The Briggs and Stratton engine is a bit loud, but that's just how they are anyway. It's smooth and does the job. We lose power all the time because of PG&E outages along with snow and wind storms, so this generator is getting a lot of use. Definitely recommend it.

Wouldn’t start
Wouldn’t start. We tried several times over a few days to try and get this started, but it never did. When we received it, it had been shipped on its side, so all of the oil had leaked out and ruined the box. We’ve no box to ship it back in, but I’ll find a way because I’m not keeping something that doesn’t work. Let’s see if Amazon stands by its word.

Ides great under load and very quiet
I am very pleased with the generator. It's is a cinch to assemble it's very quiet and is very sturdy. I was surprised how quiet it was, and how easy it was to start right out of the crate. I'm rating this a 5 because I can't think of any way to improve this generator, except maybe a longer towing handle. I feel with a longer flip up handle it would be just a little bit easier to tow around. With the handle the way it is, you have to take shorter steps if you don't want your heels to hit the unit while in tow. That said, The handle and everything else is very sturdy on this. I've powered my circular saw drills and compressor on this and it doesn't bog down with all of them plugged in. It governs very well, even under heavy load. This is the 1st compressor that I've owned but while I worked in construction I had the chance to work with a lot of different brands. What seemed to be a problem with other ones was when the generator got pushed to its limits the governor was all over the place. This unit doesn't have that problem. Very very pleased.

Don't buy this generator!
This generator only lasted 5 months before the engine failed and required a $400 repair. Craftsman and Briggs and Stratton refused to honor their warranty, so save your money and buy a better generator elsewhere! You can follow all of the requirements in the manual (oil change, ethanol-free fuel, fuel stabilizer, etc.), but it won't stop this piece of junk from letting you down when you need it the most. I've been very happy with my Craftsman lawnmower and snowblower and other tools, but this generator is terrible.
