Instead, there really is an intentionally baggy portion on the front of the dress around the belly area. The top of the dress fits phenomenally, the portion around the thighs also has a nice fitted feel without being too tight, it's just got a weird "man this would be really comfortable if I were pregnant" tummy panel. Maybe this is a new style that I need to get used to - haven't worn it out yet so I'll update after.
