These work even for small dogs.
My 15 lb poodle mix (age 13) needs to take two rather large capsules twice every day. I tried two other pill shooters but they were too small to accommodate the medicine. So I struggled pushing them down his throat by hand. (He refuses chewables and will not eat his food if I sprinkle medicine in it.) I decided to do another search and found these pill shooters for large dogs. I received them today and for the first time, I was able to give my dog his capsules without much of a struggle. These are perfect for larger capsules.

Not a safe product.
Do not waste your money. It is cheaply made. This piller cannot be used at all because it is a hard plastic that could possibly cut the inside of your pets throat! There is no silicone to protect your pet. You would think they would at least make the end of the piller where it holds the pill with a softer material that is safe. It is complete garbage and that is where it is going.

Work great! One of the best.
These pill poppers work well. And they come with a round cardboard cylinder to fit over the tips to keep them pressed together. This is necessary to keep the jaws of the tip tight so pills don’t fall out. At first I didn’t know what the round cardboard pieces were for until I put them on the tips. The body of the pill popper is 0.47 inches in diameter so you’ll want to take that into consideration for the size of your pet’s mouth. I have cats and the popper works great on them. The 0.47 diameter body is big enough to hold three small pills or one larger one. I remove the plunger and drop the pills into the center of the body. I make sure the tip (or jaws) are tightly pressed together by the round cardboard piece. To insert the pills into your pets mouth put your hand behind its head and use your fingers to gently coax the animal to open their mouth. It just takes a small amount of pressure pushing against the jaw joint to get the pet to open their mouth. Then quickly inset the popper to back part of the tongue. Don’t go too deep. Then quickly push the plunger in and the pills should be far enough back in the pet’s throat for it to swallow the pills. Remember to hold the pet’s head slightly up. Be gentle. If you use force the animal will instinctively get fearful. You can talk to your pet to help keep them calmer. I’m dosing one cat two times a day with 1 1/2 pills. She takes them well and after it’s finished she acts like she doesn’t even remember what happened. Make the event as stress free so your animal won’t get traumatized by being force fed pills.

Works great! Wish the tip was a little softer.
Works great for small and larger pills. Only concern was that it has sharper edges. I which the tip was rubbery and not hard plastic. My dog is on blood thinners and I was concerned about cutting the inside of her mouth. So far, no issues!

Safer than silcone tip shooters
These pill guns have issues. Build quality could be better cause I had to cut a hanging piece of plastic from the tip. Small pills will not work cause it will just pop out but can put it in a capsule. It is harder to get the cat to open their mouth. Despite these issues, this shooter gives me piece of mind cause I do not have to worry about my cat swallowing a silicone tip which would cause a ER visit. I am lucky that did not happen cause I discovered it on the floor after trying to give a pill to my cat. It's a tradeoff I am willing to accept.

Great for a dog that hates taking pills the conventional way.
My dog HATES to take pills. It's always a battle. I've tried in treats, in his food, in toys- nothing works. He seems to know to eat around it. These little things get into his mouth, down his throat and inject the pill with no fight. A+++++

Perfect for giving your pet meds!!!
I have to give my dogs medication daily and my pups don’t take meds any other way, other than a pill shooter. These work great and so much cheaper than than other pet stores.

Dont waste your money
This product relies on the little fingers on the end of the tube to create some pressure. When you push the plunger it holds the pill back for a split second then launches it 2 inches or so to get down your dogs throat. It worked good for the first 4 times I used it but since the fingers are so small the no longer hold it for the pressure, the pill just drops off the end. Unless you plan on sticking this product down your dogs throat it is useless.

Perfect
This is a perfect product to give a pill to your loved one, cat or dog. It is clear and simple to use, the other product holds the pill at the tip which is useless for my use. the pill does not hold or it breaks. This one the pill goes right in the tube and the plunger inserts it.

A SAD DISAPPOINTMENT!
Neither of the 2 pill dispensers work. Upon using plunger the pill comes out partially & sideways and is stuck in applicator. This is so disappointing! I’m very good at pill giving, but I’m going away and so hoped this would work for my doggie caregiver. We tried together & these DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AT DISPENSING. Something this faulty should be returnable. I’ll be taking this up with Amazon. It’s not the money, but the disappointment to get something that is so very inferior that I need for viral heart meds for my beloved dog.

Poor quality, cheap and nasty not worth it.
Cheap and poor quality, not worth the money, pet barn pet pill poppers are much better quality.
