Is the trigger guard exposed at all on the p365?

A small part of the back half of the guard is exposed. Wish I could send you a picture.

Is this the V4 holster?

I don't think so. I don't like this holster because I wanted it for a pocket holster for my p365 and it's unnecessarily too wide.

will this work with a S&W Shield 45 acp (compact, 6 & 7 round mags)?

Yes - it works fine with a Shield 45 ACP - I have one and use this for it some times. It also works fine for a Shield 9 Plus.
