Decent product to screw on top of an existing AC outlet. Of course I could replace the entire outlet with one that has built-in USB ports--but with USB tech advancing almost as fast as PC tech, that's not really a path to victory. I'm not inclined to replace outlets every few years for USB2->USB3->next-USBx-hotness. This particular outlet expander is cheap, easy to install, and works quite well with common household outlets (and the top edge is appropriate for resting a phone on top of it if you don't have a tabletop nearby). When screw-mounted to the center of the outlet, it's rock solid. The expander won't fit so neatly with rectangular outlets (GFCI or similar). The manufacturer recommends cutting off the bottom plastic stabilizer post in such cases (eww), and there's no easy way to stabilize it with a screw mount in this case (you'd have to open it up and make a new hole to line up with top+bottom trim mounting instead). That's slightly unfortunate, but I was aware of this beforehand and wasn't personally affected anyways. Perhaps the manufacturer could incorporate a sliding stabilizer post and a couple of extra screwholes in this case? It would also be nicer if the back was shaped to fit over outlets and rest more flush against the wall around the outlet trim. In that case I could even feel safe leaving off the original outlet trim, leaving the top-bottom screwholes available for better mounting all-around.

Update!! I'm updating this post because customer service is excellent, they went above and beyond to send me a product I would be satisfied with! They contacted me theirselves and sent me a unit with a screw in it that works amazingly well!! I will leave my original review up because it still stands about this product in particular and like it says, if you'll be using it a ton then find one of their products with a screw that secures it to the outlet. It does work and having usb ports on an outlet is convenient. There are a couple of things that could be improved however. The usb ports and plug-ins seem to be pretty tight fitting, I have to use much more force to plug something in than I would in a normal outlet...same for removal as well. It would be amazing if there was a screw in the middle to secure to the wall because I pull the entire unit out of the wall when I try to remove a plug or usb which is the biggest downfall, imo. Update: I've decided to return this item. It comes out of the wall every time we unplug anything, even a usb. It's super irritating. There is no way to secure it to the wall. We've tried it over a plug cover and without a plug cover. Same result both ways. IF you're using this and have things that will stayed plugged in and don't have to unplug often then it will probably be ok for you. It's not for us though, we use the plugs often..multiple times a day. If they'd put a screw hole in the middle to secure it it would be a great item for us!!

The device appears well made and I assume performs well. Please note the warning that it will not work if the outlet is a GFCI outlet. The prongs will not align. If you wish to use it on a kitchen or bathroom counter (as I did) it is likely that all the outlets are GFCI as required by building code (if not they should be). That said, this device would need to be used in a standard outlet which is normally 12" off the floor. For me that was not the most convenient place to charge my devices. If you have a standard outlet at the desk or work bench level this should work well and take up a minimal amount of desk space. I ended up giving this to my son and ordered the device below (which is also a surge protector) and I use it on my desk. Need one in every room, for every outlet. This item is wonderful! I have it in my kitchen and its charging my USB frother and hand-held vacuum. It also is extending outlets for my cube so I can plug in my ice maker, teapot, and my Instantpot when I need to. How great is that? Now that so many items are charged by USB, this item is SO useful. That little cube thing in everyone's junk drawer always seems to be the wrong connector. Het now you don't need it! I love the way it sits flat against the outlet and doesn't take up a ton of space. It has TWO USB connections and 2 grounded outlets. As I said, I plug in a cube extension outlet and have all the power connections I need. For older homes, outlets are a rarity, so this solves the problem. Would absolutely order again. I want one in every outlet!

Based on the other great reviews, I decided to order this multifunctional outlet and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations. The outlet is highly effective and able to power multiple devices simultaneously. Currently, I have my mini fridge, mini fan, and phone plugged into it and everything is working perfectly without any issues. Along with its impressive charging capabilities, the outlet also has a designated area on the top where your phone can rest. This charging station is truly remarkable and I cannot express how satisfied I am with its functionality and convenience. In conclusion, I highly recommend this multifunctional outlet to anyone in the market for a reliable and efficient charging solution.

Love this still works good after years and wasn't too pricey! And there's emough space in between the sockets to accommodate the bigger plus too even small ish bricks in they can face downwards or upwards (with 2 prongs)
