My elderly mother lives in assisted living and needed a very small, light hammer. This is a perfect miniature of the one you have in the garage. Amazingly lightweight, it still has the right balance to do the job. Mom was delighted.

I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this, and I received even less. I have plenty of grown up adult hammers and sledges, 16 ounces, 20 ounces, 24 ounces, 2 pounds, and 5 pounds. All I wanted was a lightweight Granny hammer to use for light duty use where brute force isn't required, like for tacking picture hooks into sheet rock walls. Just be aware that the product specifications say the PACKAGE is 8.5 inches long, but the actual PRODUCT is just 6 3/4 inches long. That's shorter than the distance from my wrist to my fingertip, and my small hand covers the entire rubber grip when I hold it. Because of the short length, there is barely enough leverage to drive a picture hook into the wall. I will probably donate this hammer to the local nursery school for their little craft projects. I should have given this product just one star, but I gave it 2 stars because the size is actually pretty funny. My wife says the look on my face was worth the money.

I was looking for a small lightweight hammer that would work for small jobs in the house and fit in a kitchen drawer and this is perfect for that! I love this little hammer. It is made very well and sturdy. It’s also cute but that’s not why I bought it. It really is a great little hammer. I’m so glad I found it.

Most projects in our home can be handled with this little guy. Less dangerous than a regular size one, much easier to store, doesn't do as much dinging up if you drop or miss. We have purchased a couple of them to keep one on both levels of our home.
